November 2018 Empties

November 2018 Empties (2)

Hello there, today is all about empties, all the products that I have used up, aka trash, which is always weirdly exciting because it’s like mini-reviews on a lot of different products. Last month I used up a good amount of product with twenty-four products and this month I have crushed that with a total of twenty-six empties this month. I don’t know why but I just really love using up a product, it’s probably because I have too much stuff. So, let’s talk trash.

For your enjoyment here is a fun and festive playlist you can listen to while reading blogmas.

Pack With Me: Fall 2018

Pack With Me

If you did not know I am currently in Florida, for just a few more hours when this post goes up, I will be headed home today. Anyway, a trip is always an excuse for a few blog posts for me and this time around I thought it would be fun to share my travel makeup and skincare, I will warn you, this is not about packing lightly for me because I am a serious over-packer, but I thought it still might be fun to share what I brought along with me to Florida. You might want to grab and drink and a snack before settling in, like most of my blog posts.

On Trend: Duochrome Products

I am so excited to do this post, it’s been a long while since I’ve done a trend post, in fact, it’s been over a year and a half since I did my one and only trend post, which you can find here.  I’ve been meaning to do another one but I can never quite seem to get a post together or figure out what trend I want to do, but this month I guess you can say I was feeling inspired and have decided to do a post all about duo-chrome products, they seem to be pretty popular and I’ve accumulated quite a few, all of which are either eye products or highlighters. So, let’s just jump into this post and talk about some duo-chromatic products.

PSX_20170902_152624Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Diamond Dust – This one is limited edition, but at this very moment in time it is still available for purchase at Ulta. I think this highlighter is really interesting, it’s fun and great for the summer time if you want to read a full review you can check my review out here.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Sea Siren – This is also limited edition and does not appear to be available on the Sephora website at this moment in time, not sure if there will be a restock but if there is you should for sure pick this one up if you’re looking for a really fun, purple duo-chrome liquid eye shadow. This one is so fun and also has glitter.

Makeup Geek Duochrome Highlighter in Moon Phase – This is the only highlighter I own from makeup geek and I quite like it, it doesn’t have the best formula ever but it does show up really strong and has a fun blue shift to it, while also looking icey sometimes.

NYX Strobe Of Genius Holographic Stick in Mermaid Armor – This is supposed to be holographic, but to me, it looks like a duo-chrome product. This shifts between purple and blue, it’s really quite pretty and I think this one is pretty wearable.

NYX Duo-Chromatic Illuminating Powder in Lavender Steel – This is one of the softest powders I’ve ever felt, which I personally think makes for a great product, this product is interesting to look out but probably one of the most wearable of the things in this post. It has a very strong pinky purple flash to it, it’s really interesting and I’m wishing I picked up a couple more now just to try out.

NYX Prismatic Eyeshadow in Mermaid – I love these eyeshadows! I have a few of them, I have another one that would have been even better in this post but I could find this. I love this shade so much still, it’s a really soft pretty light teal shade with a little bit of a blue shift to it, it’s very pretty.

Pacifica Rainbow Crystals Liquid Mineral Strobe Multi-Use Highlighter in Unicorn – This one is really interesting, I like to cream formula, I like the idea of these and overall I just really like this product. This one is icey white with like a pinky red shift to it, it’s fun!

Makeup Geek Duo-Chrome Shadow in Blacklight – I love Makeup Geek eyeshadows, I don’t think I’ve ever gotten one that I don’t enjoy and blacklight is actually one of my favorites. This is a really bright and little out there shade, but I find it to be very wearable and have worn it a lot of times.

Colourpop Super Shock Pigment in Kelp Me – I love this shade, it’s really bright and really fun, this is probably one of the lesser wearable shades but I also don’t think it’s that out there. This is a really bright peachy orange with a little bit of a pinky shift to it, it’s really subtle but bright.

Now, I think it’s time we talk about some swatches, because what would this post be if I didn’t show you what these products? Just not as good. I’m going to go top to bottom.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow in Blacklight, NYX Prismatic Eyeshadow in Mermaid, Colourpop Super Shock Pigment in Kelp Me, Pacifica Rainbow Crystals Liquid Mineral Strobe Multi-Use Highlighter in Unicorn, NYX Duo-Chromatic Illuminating Powder in Lavender Steel, Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Sea Siren, Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Diamond Dust, NYX Strobe Of Genius Holographic Stick in Mermaid Armor and lastly Makeup Geek Duochrome Highlighter in Moon Phase.

And those are all of the swatches, all very fun and very pretty, I’m quite happy with how these all look.

I kind of really love the duo-chrome products that are floating around, so much so that I hadn’t even realized how many I had already owned. After writing this one I kind of one to pick up a few more things but I probably won’t, well maybe, we’ll see.

What other makeup trends would you want to see posts about?

Project Pan Roulette #2: 24 By 24!

Project Pan- 24 By 24

I haven’t even started typing this post before adding this, but I know this is going to be a long one, so grab yourself a snack, a drink and settle in because this will be a long post!

I am back again with the project pan roulette, I’ve done one of these before and just finished the one I was working one last month actually, but it was really fun and I have so much makeup that I decided to try again. Basically, this is kind of like a project pan except I picked how many products I wanted to, used a random number generator and this list to decide what categories of products I was going to use. Pretty simple I think, fun and a little bit challenging sometimes.

And, if you couldn’t assume I’m am going to attempt to use 24 products up by the time that I turn 24, which is in September. I have no doubt that I will not finish all of these products but I am really excited to try. I plan on doing one check in and then a final like I did in the other project pan, so I’m probably going to do the check in sometime around the half way mark in later July or early August, then the final sometime around my birthday. Now, with all of that said let’s jump in and look at all of the products that I plan on attempting to get through.

24. Something hyped up on Youtube: Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask.

This mask is something that I feel like the whole internet is obsessed with, or at least was for a while there, and youtube is part of the internet so I’ve decided to try and use this up even though it’s new to me. I just wanna find out how much I really like it, so that’s why I chose this mask. Amount Left: 80%

11. Something You Have Already Hit Pan On: Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cucticle Cream.

I recently hit pan on this and I really love this stuff, I apply this probably at least once a day because I love what it does for my hands and how it smells, I’m kind of obsessed at the moment. I have faith that I can probably finish this product up. Amount Left: 50%

25. Something In A Stick/Tube: Tony Moly So Cool Eye Stick

I cannot express how much I love this product! It’s really great and feels amazing on the skin, I’m not sure if it does a whole for my skin but it is very cooling and I love the feeling of it on my skin so much. Amount Left: 50%

36. Item In Your Favorite Color: Not Your Mothers Naturals Tahitian Gardenia Flower + Mango Butter Curl Defining Detangler

This is newer to me and I’m not sure how I feel about this honestly, I thought it smelled amazing when I first used it but as I’ve been using it I kind of hate the scent, I’m also not sure what it’s doing for my hair but I’m going to try and use it up anyway. Amount Left: 75%

9. Perfume: Sugared Amber Dreams Rollerball.

This is my all time favorite scent that I’ve smelled thus far, I own the spray of this as well so I never used the rollerball, which is why I decided on putting this product in here because it just made sense to me. This smells really sweet but at the same time it’s not overly sweet and it has a bit of warmth to it, I think it’s a really rounded scent and I am in love with it. Amount Left: 50%

18. Something Purple: Pink Sweet & Flirty Body Mist Mini.

I had a different one in my last project pan and decided to throw this one in here since I am currently really into this, I use this almost every single day, it smells really great and I may get a full size once I use this up because I really like the scent. Yes, I know that kind of defeats the purpose but whatever, I’ll do what I want. Amount Left: 40%

17. Something Fun: Lush First Snow Dusting Powder.

This is a holiday product so I couldn’t link it in this posts, but I think this is a great product for the summer time, even though it came out in the winter, I also think this is fun. This is a dusting powder that has a bit of shimmer in it and smells just like citrus, both of these things are things that make me think of the summer time and since summer is coming it made sense to me to throw this in. Amount Left: 85%

42. Everyday Staple Item: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer.

This was in the last project pan that I did and it has returned here, I am trying super hard to finish this product and I’m nearly done with this tube, however, I have two smaller tubes that I’m trying to get through as well. I like this primer but I’ve found one I like more, however before I commit to a full size of it I want to finish up a few primers I already own and these are thist list. Amount Left: 15%

24. Something with Beautiful Packaging: Tony Moly Pocket Bunny Moist Mist.

I don’t really own anything with really beautiful packaging so I settled on this, I’m not even sure that this is beautiful but it is very cute and easily one of the cutest products that I own. I love this spray, it feels really nice on the skin, I feel like it does really well on my skin and it smells amazing, but I have tons of new sprays to try out so I’m going to try and use this one up. Amount Left: 40%

50. Mac Product: Mac Strobe Cream.

Yes, another thing that was in my past project pan and that’s because I didn’t use it up so it’s back with another chance of getting used. I really like this stuff but it was given to me and I’ve had it for a little while, so I figured I should use it before it really goes bad. Amount Left: 25%

20. Something You Are Loving: Mac Fix+ Coconut.

Another Mac product, this one is one that I am really loving and am sad that they don’t carry anymore, at least not in this scent and boy does this smell really good. I just want to use this up because I really like it. Amount Left: 75%

52. Setting Powder: Dermablend Loose Setting Powder.

This is just a sample sized product but I feel like this one is really going to be a challenge because it is loose powder and while it seems small I bet it is going to last for some time, but either way I am going to attempt to use it up and see how much of a dent I can get in this one. Amount Left: 98%

21. Something You Regret: Wet N Wild Mega Cushion Highlight in Who’s That Pearl.

I wanted this so bad and lusted after it for a while before actually picking it up, which is strange for me considering it’s a really affordable item but I just couldn’t bite the bullet and now I’m kind of regretting it. It’s not a major loss at all but it’s just something that I want to use up and not waste. Amount Left: 95%

29. Full Sized Item: Sephora Radiant Luminizing Drops in Morning Light.

I don’t really know how I feel about this as I keep forgetting I have these, which is why I decided to put it on this list, it’s something that I want to try and if I put it on this list I will be forced to remember that this is a thing and use it. Amount Left: 100%

3. Deluxe Sized Item: Pur Volume Vixen Mascara.

I have way too many mascaras I think and I figured this was a great reason to focus on what and use one up, so I settled on this one just because it was one of the first ones that I grabbed. Amount Left: 100%

40. Sample Product: Milk Makeup Blur Stick.

I now have two samples of this, I tried this out once and I actually really liked it so I’m hoping I continue to enjoy it. I know this is pretty much another primer but I really wanted to try this out a finish up some of the primers that I already have. Amount Left: 95%

39. Urban Decay Item: Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Liner in Perversion.

I was gifted this eyeliner by someone and I do not want to have this around any longer, maybe that’s strange, maybe it’s not but either way I have thrown this into the mix because I can probably get through this with very little effort. Amount Left: 100%

2. Product In a Palette: Lorac Pro Matte.

This was also in my last project pan and it is back because I did not get super far with this. I’m not focused on a specific color but I will be working on this, I’m hoping to finish them all up but I will settle for one or two shades completely planned, however, I’m not sure how this will go. Amount Left: 75%

37. Maybelline Item: Maybelline Brightening Creamy Concealer in Fair.

This may also be something that I regret a little bit but I’ve decided to throw it on this project so I can give it a little bit more of a chance, I’ve tried this maybe twice and I’m not a fan yet. Amount Left: 100%

12. Glossy Lip Product: Too Faced Sweet Peach Lip Oil in Papa Don’t Peach.

I love this color but I’m not a huge fan of the scent of this, I think that’s why this one is going to be a little bit of a challenge to use up because I am not super favorable of the scent, but we will see. Amount Left: 95%

27: Matte Product: Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Dopey.

This is just a mini and is a satin finish, but I’m counting it because that is close enough to matte for me. I think this one should be fairly easy for a lip product, it’s a small tube, it’s a color that I enjoy and it’s a finish that I like. Amount Left: 100%

47. Lip Gloss: Buxom Full On Lip Cream in White Russian.

This may be one the easiest product for me, or at least on of the easiest, I love this stuff! This color is gorgeous, I really like the feel on the lips and while I’m not the biggest fan of a glossy finish I like this one a lot, it’s not overly sticky or anything else. Amount Left: 75%

33. Chapstick/Lip Balm: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment.

I have mixed feelings on this one, only because it’s a kind of expensive and I love it, so using it up is kind of a bittersweet thing. But, this is something that I really love so I don’t %want it to go bad, I would much rather use it up. Amount Left:

21. Item Of Your Choice: Sephora Rouge Shine Lipstick in N14.

This is the last product and this is also the last product that was in my last project pan, this one should be fairly easy seeing as it is a mini that I barely have any left of it, so I am not worried about this one at all. Amount Left: 15%

And those are all of those products that are in this project, a really good mix I think and a bit of a challenge. I really don’t think that I’ll finish all of these products at all, it’s a lot of things and I didn’t even fully finish my last project in the time frame, either way I’m going to have fun, try and use up some products and see how it goes.

Are you guys doing a project pan at the moment?

Sephora & Ulta Sale Haul

Sephora & UltaSale Haul

This is my last haul for a little while, until at least June or July, probably July but even then I can’t guarantee that. Anyway, I’ve posted two large hauls recently, Ulta spring haul and Ulta 21 days of beauty haul, so of course my last major haul for a while had to be from Ulta, but this one also includes Sephora! So this one is pretty large, not quite as big as the last on but I still think it’s pretty big. Both Sephora and Ulta have recently had sales, and me being the makeup lover that I am couldn’t resist picking some things up. Or really, a bunch of things.

I’m going to start with Ulta because that’s the sale I shopped first, but does anyone else feel like it sounds weird to say Ulta & Sephora? Because I think it does, it’s like I have to say Sephora & Ulta when talking about them both even if I’m going to start with Ulta. Anyway, let’s jump on into this haul.

I have another photo because I bought so much and it wouldn’t fit into one. And to defend my Ulta haul just a little bit I want to say that I’ve been hoarding points for a while and redeemed 2000 points on top of the 20% Coupon, so I decided to go a little bit crazy. I am on a no buy right now though, because of the 21 days and this haul.

First up is the Lipstick Queen Frog Prince & Hello Sailor Duo. The Hello Sailor lipstick was on my purchase list and then this came out, it was only 5 or 10 dollars more so I figured what the heck, get both. I’ve wanted Hello Sailor for a while and I love it, I’m so happy I got my hands on it and I’ve been so obsessed with it that I haven’t even tried out Frog Prince yet, but I’ll get to it I’m sure.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Light Neutral. This is something that I completely got for two reasons and I’m not sure either were particularly good reasons, one was because I wanted to do a dupe post using this concealer and the other was that everyone and their dog was talking about this product for a while there, and now even, so I caved into the hype and picked up a travel size just in case I don’t like it.

Benefit Galifornia Blush. This was on my list from the second that I saw it, I’m not usually one for Benefit products but something about this just has my name written all over and was calling me to it. So, during the sale, I knew that I had to pick it up and give it a try. It’s got such cute packaging and is honestly so pretty.

NYX Pigment in Vegas, Baby. I already have a bunch of these and this is the last one that I saw that I really, really wanted to I figured why not grab it now while it was 20% off?

Essence Satin Touch Blush. This was another spur of the moment kind of thing, it was something that I had my eye on a little bit, I wasn’t sure but it wasn’t very expensive so I figured why not.

Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub. I wanted this from the second that I smelled this, the smells amazing, it smells like maple syrup and reminds me breakfast, which is probably where the name comes from. I have not tried this yet but I really should.

Essence The False Lashes Mascara Extreme Volume + Curl. I have a million mascaras, like I seriously have way too many and probably more than I can use up, but here I am buying another mascara because I just can’t help myself. I am a makeup hoarder and love trying new mascaras, so this one came home with me.

Too Faced Melted Chocolate Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chocolate Honey. I wasn’t aware of these until I saw swatches of these really recently and I found myself drooling over them, so of course, I picked one up and I am loving it. I love the smell especially, it smells like chocolate and that is a great thing.

Buxom Full On Lip Cream in Blushing Margarita. I fell in love with the full on lip creams recently, I got a sample of White Russian in a Sephora Favorites set and I just really wanted to try another one, so I picked this one up. I love this color and I just really love this formula, I’m already ready to pick up another color.

Tarte Double Duty Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Fair. Yet another product that I feel like I have caved on, the whole internet seems to be all about this concealer and I haven’t heard a single bad thing about it, so I picked this up. This was actually the first thing that I put in my cart and I’m really glad that I picked this out, this is one of my favorite things already and I’m so into it that I’m not sure I can see myself not using this product in the future, it’s just that good.

Shiseido Facial Cotton. This is one of those kind of stupid purchases, I don’t make a whole lot of them too often but when I do it’s something like this, it’s useful, kind of weird and a little bit stupid. These are just really nice cotton pads.

Elf Blush Brush. I’m not really sure why I picked this up but it was something that I felt I needed to have so I threw it in the basket with the rest of the things I was getting.

Tony Moly Peach Punch Foam Cleanser. I’m not completely sure why I wanted this but this is something that I really wanted to get, I’ve read good things and I just really hope that it smells like peaches or peach candies, I’ve got a couple of things I want to get through before I try this out.

Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash. Another face wash that I picked up because I’ve heard such good things about Pacifica skincare products and I kind of wish I had picked some other things. This is something I threw in my cart because I figured both my fiancee and I could both use this since it’s for all skin types.

Now it is time for the second part of this haul, the Sephora part, I picked up a few things during the VIB Sale. I don’t spend enough there so I only get 10% off there, but that’s still 10% that I didn’t have. They don’t have a lot of sales so I hopped on this one, let’s check out what I picked up during the Sephora sale.

Dr. Jart Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 Sample. This was one of a few things that I picked up with some points,  I hear a lot of good things about this and I’m not sure that I’ve ever tried a beauty balm so it was time that I tried one out.

Nars Lipstick in Dolce Vita. I’ve always wanted this lipstick since the first time that I saw swatches of it, I just hadn’t picked it up until now because Ulta never carried Nars and I never really shopped at Sephora, even though that was where I got it. Ulta does carry this now though. Anyway, the finish and color of this is really beautiful.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation in Porcelain. I originally bought this in another shade on accident so I had to return it and get this one, I haven’t tried this one on the face yet but I have swatched it and this is for sure the right shade for me. I’m super excited to try this out.

Clinique Pep Start Hydro Rush Moisturizer Sample. This was another 100 point perk that I picked up, I don’t shop at Sephora all that often so I was really just trying to use up some points and I always need moisturizer so I figured why not.

Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine Sample. I think I got a sample of this in one of my Sephora play boxes and I think it was one of the very few perfume samples that I liked, maybe even the only one, so I decided to turn in some points for this as well. It’s not as much as I would like but it’s not a terrible size either.

Sephora Precision Pore Cleansing Pad. This was just random and I think the reason why I picked it up was because I saw it on the site and thought that it looked cool. So far I enjoy using it.

Clinique Merry + Brightening Pep-Start Set. I’m pretty sure this is something left over from the Holiday season and i’m really glad that they still had this because I was going to get the moisturizer anyway and this way I got a couple of extras with it, so that’s a win win in my book. So far I really like the eye cream and I love the moisturizer, by itself and under makeup. I for sure could see myself picking this up again.

Benefit Highlighter Hotshots. I’ve always wanted to try high beam but never wanted to invest in the full size, so when I saw the sample set I knew that I for sure had to pick it up. I’m super glad that I did because I already love high beam, I haven’t really tested the other two out yet though so we’ll just have to wait and see how this goes.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light Sample. I don’t really know if this is a sample size or what but this is smaller than the normal size and I’m glad that I got this to try out. I’ve tried this a couple times and I like it so far, but I’m not sure that this is worth the price tag. I like the look of it and I like the feel of this, it’s just a pretty hefty price tag.

Tarte FrXXXtion Stick Exfoliating Cleanser. This is something else I got in a past Sephora play box and decided to get the full size of, it was just something that I really like. This is also something that is super easy to use and just seems really effective, I’m not sure if the amount that comes in here will last that long or not, but we will find out in the next couple of months.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer Sample. This is the last 100 point perk that I picked up, I’m not huge into bronzer but I did have a sample size of this before and really wanted to test it out again and see how it went since I remember liking this. Also this smells really good.

And that is everything that I picked up between the sales, I don’t think I did too bad. I still have a few other things that didn’t come from either place, but I didn’t want to include these and probably won’t haul it. I am super excited about everything I picked up and I’m excited to try it all out, it might take a little while but I am sure I will try everything out.

What would you guys like to see reviews of?
