July 2017 Nail Wrap Up

July 2017Nail Wrap Up

And it is time for the last monthly post of all the monthly posts that I do, which means it’s nail time! I wanted to do better this month and test out more polishes, which I think I did and am really quite happy about. This month I wore six different nail polishes so this post will be a little bit longer than the last month. And hopefully August will be long and fun as well, but for now, we are going to focus on the month of July and dive right on in!

Essie Russian Roulette – Is the first one up this month, I bought this on a whim at Walgreens because it was on sale super cheap and I didn’t really have a bright, true classic red polish in my collection. I’m not sure if this was exactly what I was thinking of when it comes to that shade but it is a nice one and I’m happy to have this. The formula is really good, which to me is a huge plus because usually Essie polishes are so hit and miss, so I’m just happy to have picked out a hit. This is a shade I see myself using plenty in the future.

China Glaze I Just Canterlot – I just couldn’t resist the new My Little Pony Collection, well at least picking up a couple of the polishes, which I did pretty well at restraining myself and have only purchased three from this collection… so far. This was the first one that I had to put on my nails because of glitter! And I think that says enough. This was a little bit disappointing because it did chip fairly quickly and that’s annoying, however, I haven’t written this one off yet and still plan to keep this one until further notice.

China Glaze Sweet As Pinkie Pie – I had to get the Pinkie Pie themed polish, or at least one of them, I couldn’t not own it because Pinkie is my favorite pony plus I really do love the color pink. This polish is fantastic and may have been the pink polish that I’ve been looking for, well maybe not exactly but pretty damn close. I think the shade I’m dreaming of is a little bit lighter with a fantastic formula, but I haven’t come across that yet. Anyway, about this polish, I found that the formula was great, it was a two coater and went on really smooth and not streaky at all so I’m super happy to have this one in the stash.

China Glaze Cutie Mark The Spot – And this is the last shade from the collection that I picked up and of course it is the most disappointing, I didn’t really love this formula. I put on three coats and it’s still a little bit patchy. That combined with the fact that my nails look a little bit rough here just makes for a miserable combination. I hated this formula and usually would pass it along, but because it’s so new to me I can’t get myself to let go so this is something that I’m probably going to have to play with one or two more times before really writing it off.

Julep Kayla – This is a brand that I don’t own a lot from, in fact, I think this is the only Julep brand nail polish that I own and I’m kind of sad about that. This formula is really quite nice, it did take me three coats to get this particular shade built up to where I wanted it to be but I’m alright with that, I’m not the biggest fan of three coaters but if they look nice at the end of it all I’m not mad about it. This is just a really bright, fun and interesting color if you ask me.

China Glaze Papa Don’t Peach – I’m typing this out and can’t believe that I’m already on the last shade, I wore so many more nail polish shades this past month than the last but it still went by really quickly. Anyway, I found out about the China Glaze Lite Brite collection from last summer and after reading a couple of reviews fell in love with the whole thing, I really wanted to pick up all of them but instead I limited myself to seven to try out, which is probably stupid because I could have just purchased the whole collection for probably almost as much as I got these seven for. And I might even go back for more. Anyway, about this shade, I was really excited to get my hands on this shade, so much so that this was the first from the collection that I put on my nails because I just had to wear it, it did not disappoint. This shade is bright, really fun, easy to work with and just a really fantastic summer shade that I am so happy to have my little hands on.

And those are all of the shades that I have worn over the month of July, a really good mix of shades I think, once again not the best mix of brands but about half of my collection is split between Zoya and China Glaze so I’m not sure there is much I can do about that. Except maybe purchase more nail polish! But really, I probably don’t need to do that, at least not in bulk so I’m going to try and hold off on that a bit and just try and work through looking at all of the polishes that I currently own.

What nail polish colors have you been rocking in the month of July?

July 2017 Empties

July 2017 Empties

In my last empties post I decided that I needed to do monthly empties again, this one is more like a month and a half but looking at all of the things I’ve accumulated over the past month and a half I think it’s a good thing that I did decide to start doing this again because there is quite a bit here. So, this is another long empties post, I would grab a drink and maybe even a snack before digging into this one.

Not Your Mothers Naturals Tahitian Gardenia Flower & Mango Butter Conditioner – This is the conditioner that I used for a little while there, I have probably been through two or three of these at this point and I am currently not using this conditioner. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, it just wasn’t doing what I wanted it to. Would I Repurchase: Eh, maybe?

Bath & Bodyworks Beautiful Day Foaming Hand Soap – My fiance pretty much only likes foaming hand soap and I like Bath & Bodyworks hand soaps so I think this is kind of our meet in the middle kind of product. This scent was fine, it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t something that I adored either. Would I Repurchase: Eh, probably not but maybe.

Not Your Mothers Naturals Royal Honey & Kalahari Desert Melon Leave In Conditioner – This is something else I’ve been through a few of and was my go to for a little while, this is a great product and I quite enjoyed it, however, I have been reunited with an old product that I’m loving more. Would I Repurchase: Yes, especially if I’m looking for something more affordable.

OGX Hydrating Macadamia Oil Hair Mask  – This was something I tried because it was cheaper than the Macadamia Oil one, I enjoyed this one and honestly felt it to be just as good, which makes how impossible it is to find this really annoying. The only place that I can find this is amazon, which is fine however I am currently trying out another hair mask just for the sake of trying something new. Would I Repurchase: Yeah, probably.

Bath & Bodyworks Sugared Lemon Zest Candle – They don’t appear to sell this candle anymore and that does make me very sad, this candle was a delightful candle that I found myself slightly sad at the end of it’s life. This smelled very much like lemon, very fresh and also a little bit sweet, it was a very well rounded candle scent I think. Would I Repurchase: Yes!

Pur Volume Vixen Mascara – This mascara was a mascara, I could probably stop there because I think that says a ton about this, it was just pretty middle of the road to me and whatever. Would I Repurchase: Probably not, because I could find something just as good for less.

Lush Calacas Shower Gel – This is so sad to include in this post, this is a kitchen shower gel from Lush UK and I’m so sad all of mine is gone. I’m probably going to have to keep an eye out for more and scoop it up when it comes into the kitchen again. This is probably the ultimate citrus candy kind of scent, it smells sweet and limey and just delightful. Would I Repurchase: Yes, 100%

Simple Micellar Makeup Remover Wipes – I was trying out some makeup remover wipes and these were one of the ones that I tried out, I quite liked these, they weren’t my favorite out of the ones that I’ve tried but I did like them and they worked for what I wanted. Would I Repurchase: Probably not, just because I found ones I like more.

Deva Curl Weightless Waves Mild Lather Cleanser – I got this in a little travel kit for when I went to Florida, I’ve actually used up both cleansers that I ended up getting. This was not for me, it was alright but I found that I got a lot of build up and it made my hair way too greasy, so I wasn’t the biggest fan of that. Would I Repurchase: No, I wouldn’t.

Deva Curl Weightless Waves Conditioner x 2 – And these are the counter parts to the cleanser above, I liked this a lot more, this did what I would want a conditioner to do and I do find that I got a little bit more wave and volume when using this conditioner. The only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger on this is that I’m trying something else at the moment and I’m not sure I want to pay this much for a conditioner. Would I Repurchase: Probably, just not completely sure yet.

The Body Shop Mango Body Butter – I’ve been through a bunch of these throughout the use, Mango is one of my favorite scents, along with peach and satsuma. I enjoyed this, it’s just a smaller size but it’s something that I use pretty frequently. Would I Repurchase: Yes, I already have one in another scent.

Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer  – This is something that was in my Project Pan that I have finished, this is a fine primer but it’s nothing particularly exciting. I’m just middle of the road with this. Would I Repurchase: No, it’s not my favorite.

Eva NYC Therapy Session Hair Mask – This was just a sample size and I’m sure I’ve said this before but I really hate sample sizes of hair masks, I can never get a good feel for them and in turn don’t really want to commit to any of the samples. I just have a really long hair and sample hair products really do not get me very far, so I can’t really develop a good opinion on them. Would I Repurchase: No.

Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash  – I’ve been through a couple of these at this point and I like this, it’s not my all time favorite, holy grail face wash but it is a rather good face wash. It has the slightest bit of a scrub to it but it’s gentle enough to use every day, overall it’s a nice face wash. Would I Repurchase: Yeah, if I was looking for something different or with a little bit of a scrub in it.

Clinique Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer  – I’ve been through so many of these, in fact, I hadn’t realized that I’ve already been through two of these in this post alone, which says how much I use this product. I love this stuff, it’s very moisturizing and not heavy feeling at all, I use this in the morning even. My only complaint is that this doesn’t have SPF in it but that’s probably due to the fact that this is supposed to be for the night. Would I Repurchase: Yes, I’m already using another little jar at the moment.

Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Perversion  – This is something that was in my Project Pan as well and I have decided to declutter, it just isn’t a product that I enjoy and it’s something that I found hard to work with, so it had to go. Would I Repurchase: Hell no.

Bath & Bodyworks Watermelon Lemonade Foaming Hand Soap – This is probably my absolute favorite scent from Bath & Bodyworks, it’s just the best, this may be partly because I really love anything watermelon just about, but I also just think this is a really good scent in all of the things that I’ve tried it in. So, I was happy with it in hand soap form. Would I Repurchase: Yup, completely.

Garnier Micellar Makeup Removing Towelettes – These are the ones that I am currently using, these are the brand of towelettes that I have bought two or three times now and they work fantastic. I believe these are the waterproof ones and they are great and breaking down all the makeup on my face. Would I Repurchase: Yes! I already have another pack opened.

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask – This is another thing that was in my Project Pan that I am decluttering, this one because of my own stupidity. This came with a little spatula that I was trying to use but got annoyed with so I used my fingers, which ruined it all and I’m having to toss it. I had only tried it once and I wasn’t the biggest fan of it, but I didn’t really get to give it a fair chance. Would I Repurchase: Probably not, just because I didn’t love it the one time.

Lush Bubbly Shower Gel  – This was a holiday product that I’ve finally used up and I am sad to see it go, it smelled amazing and is probably one of my favorites! I hope they bring it back, I really need this back in my life again! Would I Repurchase: Yes!

Clinique Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer  – I already talked about this in the photo above so I’m not going to go over it again. Would I Repurchase: Yes.

Maybelline Matte + Poreless Foundation in Porcelain – This seemed to be the foundation that never died, this was the first foundation that I ever really bought as an adult person who started to get into makeup and it’s a good one. This one is a perfect shade for me, leaves my skin look flawless all day and is really affordable. Would I Repurchase: Yes, once I’ve run out of a couple others that I have.

Maybelline Brightening Creamy Concealer in Fair – Yes another Project Pan item, this one is one that I’m decluttering, I’ve been using it pretty much exclusively for the past two or three weeks now and I just don’t like it, so it had to go! Would I Repurchase: No, it was way too greasy and didn’t give good coverage.

Not Your Mothers Plump For Joy – This is a travel size product and I will say this, I enjoy the product itself but I hate the little spray bottle, it’s almost impossible to get the product through the spray pump which I’m assuming is because of the thickness of this product. I can’t vouch for the full-size sprayer being better, but I do enjoy the product. Would I Repurchase: Yes, I think I’m going to purchase to full size sometime to try out.

Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri Wheat Leave In Conditioner  – This is the leave in conditioner that I loved for so long and then got tired of paying for all the time so switched to a cheaper one, however, I picked up a travel size to use while I was in Florida and fell back in love. This is a fantastic leave in conditioner! Would I Repurchase: Yes, I have already picked a full size of this.

Deva Curl Wave Maker Touchable Texture Whip  – I have another travel size of this that I am currently using and I really love this stuff, in fact, I put this in my most recent monthly favorites that’s how much I love it. This just makes my hair look a little tamer and doesn’t weigh in down in the least, it doesn’t even feel like there’s anything in my hair which is something I love. Would I Repurchase: Yessss!

And those are all of the products that I’ve used up in the past month and a half, which seem like a ton but I realize I use up a lot of sample size products so that probably has something to do with why there were so many, and that will probably continue to be a common theme seeing as I have a ton of sample products still. I feel like there was a fair amount of full size in here but also a lot of samples. Anyway, I’m hoping that this next month won’t be as long of a post since it will only be a months worth or product.

What are some products you’ve used up recently?

July 2017 Favorites + Face

July 2017 MonthlyFavorites & Face

The start of a new month means tons of posts about the last month are coming your way, and by tons, I mean four total, this being the second of the four. And today I am talking about my favorites from July, of course, so let’s not waste any time and just get into it.

I know, this mix does look a little bit like last months, however, I did mix in some other things. I just had a few things that I have really been loving and just needed to be shoved in this month’s favorites too.

Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ – Yes, this is back once more, I am obsessed and I really don’t know what more to say about that. This is just something that I really love, find myself reaching for a ton and just keep shoving in all the blog posts. It’s going to be a sad day when this runs out, although I do have this product in another scent so I guess it won’t be so bad.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe – I’ve never really been super into brow products, mostly because I have pretty nice brows naturally and I’m not really a big fan of the ‘Instagram’ brow. When I am feeling in the mood for just a little bit more that’s when I whip this guy out, it’s really quite natural and easy to use, I think it adds a little something to my eyebrows without making them overwhelmingly obnoxious. Because of that, this has been something I’ve been reaching for a lot this month.

Physicians Formula 2 in 1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black – This is a huge favorite of mine because this is the type of eyeliner that changed my eyeliner game and really made it super easy for me to do, the one that did it for me was the Kat Von D one but this one is almost the exact thing I feel like. The tip is like a really pointed, exact brush and that’s what I love about it, it’s really precise and this is really black.

City Color Contour On The Go Palette – This is one of the most surprising products that I’ve ever tried, meaning I picked this up at a five below and expected nothing out of it, but it’s turned into something that I frequently find myself using and at this point almost exclusively used for contour. I mix the bottom two right shades and it’s just a perfect mix for me, so I’m a huge fan of this, especially seeing as it was five dollars.

Deva Curl Wave Maker Touchable Texture Whip – Something that may seem a little bit strange if you’ve been here a while, I rarely talk about hair products, mostly because I don’t really fuss with my hair ever but I did get this in a travel set that I got for when I went to Florida and I love it! In fact I’, e already been through another travel size of this product and am really considering purchasing the full size. I like this because I think it makes my hair a little bit more manageable and I also like it because I feel like it makes my hair look a lot wavier than it would on its own, which is a huge plus for me.

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in Noir – This is here because this is the black eyeliner I use to tight line, and sometimes in the waterline but that’s far less often. I use this because I find that it doesn’t really budge in the eye area like some eyeliners do, if my eyes get a little water I don’t really notice any transfer and that’s a fantastic thing if you ask me.

Derma Blend Loose Powder – This is really surprising to me, loose powder seems to be a thing that everyone is using and that everyone loves, but I never expected to even like one let alone love one like I do this one. I enjoy this one so much that I am actually debating picking up the full size once I run out of this little sample, which will be very soon, but I’m not one hundred percent sure yet. Until then I plan on enjoying this powder while I have it.

I feel like this is a pretty standard thing that keeps happening, I have a really consistent base for the month to share but the eye looks are never consistent enough for me to be like, yup, that’s the eye look the represents the month of ___. So, because of that, I’m thinking I might start just doing a feature look of the month, I’m not sure though but I guess I have a month to decide. This month I chose to do this look because I’ve been testing out some new palettes and have been using a lot of colors this month.

Lorac Behind The Scenes Eyeshadow Primer

NYX Eyeshadow Base in White

BH Cosmetics Take Me Back To Brazil Palette: Row 2 Shade 4, Row 1 Shade 2, Row 3 Shade 2, Row 4 Shade 2 & Black

Rimmel Exaggerate Water Proof Eye Definer in Noir

Phyisicians Formula 2 in 1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in Porcelain

Maybelline Brightening Creamy Concealer in Fair

Dermablend Loose Powder

City Colors contour On The Go Palette

Mac Pearl Matte Face Powder in Oh my, Passion

Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Diamond Dust

Mac Prep + Prime Fix +

Buxom Full On Lip Cream in White Russian

And those are my favorites for the month of July, I think I had a really great base down and a lot of fun with the eyes. I feel like my makeup is always way too much considering where I work, but that’s alright, I enjoy it and I think that’s really what matters.

What are some of your favorites from July?

Why July 2017 Was Awesome + Goals

Why July 2017Was Awesome

It’s August and I’m excited but also not excited, August is probably the month that I like the least, summer is coming to an end, there’s nothing fun going on during the month usually and it’s the month before my birthday so I’m just not typically into the month of August. I hope this one is great and fantastic, I’m trying to go into it with optimism and I do have some fun things planned this month, but we’ll see. This post isn’t about August though, it’s about July, today I will be recapping the month of July and setting some goals for August.

July went by really quickly but at the same time it kind of felt like it went on forever if that makes any sense at all, but that’s what it felt like to me. I have been a busy bee this month, between work, working out and blogging, it’s just felt like a lot. I think everything is starting to catch up with me some, I’ve even taken a Saturday off this month and still feel like I’m so behind on so many things. I hope this overwhelmed feeling goes away soon because it is annoying and not I guess I’ll have to learn to live with it or manage my time a little bit better.

Not a whole lot has gone on during the month of July in my personal life, I haven’t really done anything particularly exciting recently like I’m trying to think of something to update you guys one and not much really comes to mind. We have spoken with a florist for the wedding, we have an idea of what we want but we have to do a little homework and then go back to her to really nail things down. This has probably been my least favorite thing we’re doing but it’s got to be done. I saw Spiderman this month as well, I enjoyed it but that’s nothing overly exciting. Overall, I think July was a busy month, boring but busy.

Adding goals to these posts are something that I started doing last month, it’s something I’m still testing out but it’s something that I’m liking so far and want to keep doing, so I will. First I want to talk about last months goals. No Buy. I failed at this, I don’t think I did too bad, I scaled back my spending a lot but I for sure broke this. At least I did better than I usually do. Eating Better I think I said this last month but this is really a never-ending thing I think, but I still think I did alright and have been improving and I’m pretty happy with that. Continuing To Beat My Monthly Views I did complete this and I really want to continue to do this, I just always want to grow my blog, but we’ll see how long I can keep that up for. Now to talk a little about what I’m hoping to accomplish in the month of August.

No Buy. I’m wanting to attempt this, I want to not purchase anything makeup related for the entire month of August, I would say until my birthday in the middle of September but I know the Ulta 21 Days of beauty is coming and I have no self-control there. Well, I can have some but

Social Media. I really want to start really focusing more on my social media, I’m probably in need of a drastic overhaul of all of them, however, I think I’m going to start with Pinterest since it’s the most neglected of all the social media for me.

Start  Driving More. This might be random but it’s a personal thing that I really want to do. I hardly ever drive and I’m not a bad driver, I’m just not a seasoned driver so I really need to work on this.

I Want To Hit 250 Followers. This may seem like a small number to some but this is a pretty big one for me, I’m really close to 200 so making that my goal would be way too easy, which means that of course, I have to make the goal 250. It’s more realistic but it’s not a small task.

Catch Up On My Reading Challenge. I am two books behind and by the end of August I’d really like to be ahead again, or at the very least caught up.

And I think that’s everything that I’m going to set for myself in this month, more then last month but nothing that I don’t think I can handle. So here’s to hoping that August is successful.

What kind of fun things did you guys do in July?

Project Pan Roulette #2: 24 By 24 Update

24 By 24- Update

I started a short little project pan back in June of this year, I wanted to finish 24 by 24 which isn’t a small project pan by any means but the time span that I have set for myself is for sure, I’m half way through and I don’t think that I’m even remotely half way through the products that I had planned. If you want to see the original post click here, and if you just want to see the update then feel free to just read on, let’s just jump right on in because this is probably going to be a long one.

24. Something hyped up on Youtube: Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask.

This mask is something weird to me and something I ruined without even realizing it, it came with a little spatula to apply and I tried applying with that but got really annoyed so I ended up applying it with my fingers, which I guess activated the whole thing and kind of ruined it. So, because of that I ended up just tossing this one as it wasn’t really something I could use anymore. Amount Left: Decluttered.

11. Something You Have Already Hit Pan On: Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cucticle Cream.

I lost this for a little while and actually ended up repurchasing it, however, I have found this one so now I guess I have two of these which is fine with me as I was planning on buying a new one when I used up the old one, I am trying to work through my first one though and have made some dent in it. Amount Left: 30%

25. Something In A Stick/Tube: Tony Moly So Cool Eye Stick

This is probably my most neglected product in this entire project, I keep this in my nightstand for who knows what reason and because of that I never find myself reaching for it, so I think I’m going to move it and see if we can make some progress in this product. Amount Left: 50%

36. Item In Your Favorite Color: Not Your Mothers Naturals Tahitian Gardenia Flower + Mango Butter Curl Defining Detangler

I’ve been using this after every shower and I’m really not sure if it’s helping at all, it doesn’t seem to be however I am still powering through and trying to use this one up, I’m not sure that I’d repurchase at this point though. Amount Left: 20%

9. Perfume: Sugared Amber Dreams Rollerball.

We all know this is my favorite perfume ever, in fact, I just named this yesterdays post as my favorite perfume ever, however, because I own the spray and the roller ball the roller ball really gets neglected. I have moved this to my desk at work and have been using it more, but I feel like I really haven’t made any progress in this one. Amount Left: 50%

18. Something Purple: Pink Sweet & Flirty Body Mist Mini.

I find these super easy to get through during these projects, they are something that are easy to just spritz on and something that I can spritz on throughout the day if I’m looking for a little bit of a boost in scent. I’ve been crushing this and will probably be finished with this one within a week and a half, at least that is my guess. Amount Left: 10%

17. Something Fun: Lush First Snow Dusting Powder.

This is the hardest thing on this list for me, partially because I forget that it exists and partially because I am never patient enough to wait to apply it when I’m dry and once I am dry it’s usually later in the day and I see no point in it. So, because of this I haven’t really made a whole lot of a dent in this product and I am for sure not going to be finishing this by the end of this project, I can already tell you that now, however, I would like to try and focus on it a little bit more and see if I can make some kind of dent in this product. This one is tough. Amount Left: 85%

42. Everyday Staple Item: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer.

This one is a little bit weird, I am technically finished with the product that is in this picture, however, I have two smaller samples of this product and since I finished this one so quick I’ve decided to throw those in and try and finish those up. So far I have finished the one in the photo here and one of the smaller ones, so now I’ve only got one left to finish up before I am finally finished with this primer.  Amount Left: Techincally Finished

24. Something with Beautiful Packaging: Tony Moly Pocket Bunny Moist Mist.

I love this product and this is something that is super easy for me to use, but because I have two sprays in this project this hasn’t been the one that I’ve been focusing on. I have done a little bit of damage to it but nothing as dramatic as I have with the other one, so this one might not get finished or maybe it will, we’ll just have to wait and see. Amount Left: 30%

50. Mac Product: Mac Strobe Cream.

This is seriously the product that will never die, it just keeps coming out and even when I feel like I’m close to finishing it still seems like more is coming out, I am really determined to finish this one at the point just because it has been such a long lived product but it’s proving to be difficult. Amount Left: 20%

20. Something You Are Loving: Mac Fix+ Coconut.

I am crushing this one and that is probably not the slightest bit surprising to anyone who has read my blog recently, I feel like I mention this product way too much as one of my favorite products, I can’t help it I just really love it. And because I love it that means I’ve been focusing on this one a lot and in turn, every time I wear makeup I set my face with this spray. Amount Left: 30%

52. Setting Powder: Dermablend Loose Setting Powder.

This is another thing that I feel like I am actually making great progress on, which I was really surprised by, but what I’ve done is pretty much only set my makeup with this product anytime that I’ve done my makeup since I’ve started this project. I never thought I would end up liking a loose setting powder but I think I am starting to fall for this one. Amount Left: 40%

21. Something You Regret: Wet N Wild Mega Cushion Highlight in Who’s That Pearl.

This is just not good or something that I enjoy, while this may have been a cheaper product it is something that I am regretting because I just don’t like it. I think I’m almost to a point where I just want to declutter this because I don’t want to open my makeup drawer and see this anymore, I’m not sure yet but I know I’m really close to doing that. Amount Left: 90%

29. Full Sized Item: Sephora Radiant Luminizing Drops in Morning Light.

It’s not that I don’t like this project it’s just that this is a really hard product to make a dent in, I feel like I’ve been using that a pretty decent amount but like I said, there is quite a bit of product in this container that is making it hard for me to make big dents in. Amount Left: 80%

3. Deluxe Sized Item: Pur Volume Vixen Mascara.

I believe I have decluttered this mascara, and if I haven’t then I am about to, because I have tried to work with this one and if I’m being completely honest I just don’t like this mascara in the slightest bit, it’s too wet and too much of a hassle to work with.  Amount Left: Decluttered

40. Sample Product: Milk Makeup Blur Stick.

I have used this a little bit since I started the project, but because I started to focus on the Smashbox primer this one has had to take a  little bit of a backseat, I think I’m nearly done with the Smashbox one which means I’ll probably start focusing heavily on this product again. But, as of right now I’ve only made a little dip in this. Amount Left: 75%

39. Urban Decay Item: Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Liner in Perversion.

I can’t make any excuses for this one, I tried and tried to use it but in the end, I just ended up hating everything about this one, it’s difficult to work with, the formula is quite watery and it’s just not black enough for me. This had to go. Amount Left: Decluttered

2. Product In a Palette: Lorac Pro Matte.

I’ve failed this one, I used to love and adore this palette, it was something that I reached for with every single look but now I’m finding it harder to work on. I still like it, I just forget about it a lot and because of that, I have made no dip in it. I am going to try and focus on getting this used a little more though, but I doubt I’m going to finish any shade before the end of this project, let alone the entire thing. Amount Left: 75%

37. Maybelline Item: Maybelline Brightening Creamy Concealer in Fair.

I tried this concealer, I really did, I’ve been using it this entire time up until a few days ago, but I just don’t like this product and I couldn’t hold on to it any longer so I just decluttered it. I hated this concealer, it barely covered, it was greasy and it was a little bit too dark for me even though it was the lightest shade in the range. Overall just a big fail in my book. Amount Left: Decluttered.

12. Glossy Lip Product: Too Faced Sweet Peach Lip Oil in Papa Don’t Peach.

I really hate the smell of this, I’ve realized how much recently as I am trying to use this product up, it’s so annoying because the scent really doesn’t linger that long and the color is gorgeous, but for that first ten or fifteen second of application, it’s so hard for me to get past but I’m trying. Amount Left: 85%

27: Matte Product: Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Dopey.

I like this formula better than the ultra mattes I think, these don’t last anywhere near as long but they do feel a lot more comfortable which is something that I like. This hasn’t been my main focus but as you can tell I have put a little dent in it. Amount Left: 75%

47. Lip Gloss: Buxom Full On Lip Cream in White Russian.

I thought this one was going to be harder for me to use up but it’s really not as bad as I thought it would be, I’ve made pretty good progress on this product and I actually really love this. I am both excited and sad to see this one go soon.. Amount Left: 40%

33. Chapstick/Lip Balm: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment.

I love this stuff, it’s not the best lip balm in the world I’m sure but it’s probably the best one that I’ve ever used and I’ve been using it quite a bit and made some difference in it, this one is bittersweet though because I do like it so much. Amount Left: 50%

21. Item Of Your Choice: Sephora Rouge Shine Lipstick in N14.

I have finally finished this one! I feel like it took me so long for such a little product, I really enjoyed this but I think I’m glad to see this go. This was a great product and a pretty color, just not exactly my typical cup of tea. Because of that, I don’t think I’d pick it up again. Amount Left: Finished.

And that is all for my update, I think I’m doing pretty well, I don’t think I’m going to use all of these products up by the time this project is over in a month and a half, but I think I can get a few more out. Thus far I’ve finished two products, decluttered four and made dents in eighteen other products, which I think is pretty good.

Would you guys be interested in seeing another project pan after this one is over?

Ride or Die Tag

Ride or Die Tag

I’m super excited about this tag, I haven’t been tagged as usual but I did see someone else do this and decided that I also wanted to, I even added a couple of items to the list that the one I saw didn’t have. Basically, this tag is all about Holy Grail products, I don’t have an item for every catagory that’s on the list, but I did share the ones that I do have and though it would be fun to share with you guys.

Primer – Benefit Porefessional – I haven’t used this primer for a little while now, I’m trying to work through another primer in my project pan, but that has got to be the all time best primer that I have ever tried. I’ve not tried an overwhelming amount of primers but at the point, I think it is safe to say that I have tried enough to crown this one the best that I’ve tried. It doesn’t feel heavy, doesn’t break me out and it really minimizes the look of my pores for a more flawless finish, so overall it’s just a really good product.

Concealer – Tarte Shape Tape – This is already a cult favorite product and I can tell why, which I know I’ve said in the past but it still remains true. This is a very thick and heavy duty concealer but that’s what I like about it, a little bit of it goes a long way and it just ends up doing everything I want in a concealer.

Foundation – Too Faced Born This Way – This was the first high-end foundation I bought and really the first foundation that started the little collection I have growing, I never really wore foundation but I find myself wearing it a lot more and liking the look of it on my skin. This is my favorite because it feels really quite light on the skin, almost like a second skin, but it has amazing coverage so it’s kind of like the best of both worlds.

Bronzer – I’m not big into bronzer and have just a few of them, I could have named my favorite out of the ones that I own and have tried but I didn’t want to do that because none of them are really something I am committed to.

Highlighter – Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin – I love highlighter and while this isn’t the only one I use, this one is my favorite because when I just don’t know what I want to wear or how I’m feeling this is the one I pick up, it’s just so easy to use, goes with tons of look and is a fantastic formula.

Blush – Too Faced Love Flush in Baby Love – I have tried other shades of this blush and the other ones are good, but I settled on sharing this color with you guys because for me this is such an easy and effortless kind of blush to wear, it goes with most looks, is really easy to build up to how much ever color payoff you want and is all around just pretty.

Face Powder – This is one of those things that I just don’t get, what makes one powder better than others? I honestly can’t really tell a difference and buy around in terms of face powder, a little bit because I figure it doesn’t matter and a little bit because I am curious if I find the right one will it make my feelings on face powder change? But either way, I don’t have one to share.

Setting Powder – Does this mean like loose setting powder? Because if not what is the difference between setting powder and face powder? Either way I don’t really have a pick for this on either, clearly, I don’t understand powder at all.

Setting Spray – Mac Prep + Primer Fix + – I feel like such a broken record mentioning this product yet again, I feel like I’m always using this or talking about this now, but I guess that’s what makes it a Holy Grail, right? I assume so. This is just a fantastic product, I feel like it extends the wear of my makeup, smells enjoyable and really just finishes off the look that I have on my face. I always thought setting sprays were dumb and basically water, but apparently, I was wrong and some actually do things.

Eyeshadow Palette – Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance – Yup, this is the palette that I’ve chosen, mostly because I feel like choosing my own Z Palette is cheating because I put it all together myself and isn’t something that you can just pick up. I just really enjoy this palette, I feel like it’s good for all seasons, has crazy pigmented shadows and is just super easy to work with overall. It’s just a really fantastic product.

Lashes – I don’t wear lashes like ever, so I don’t have even the faintest of a clue as to what to put for this one.

Mascara – Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara – This is a newer thing in my life but it is something that I am starting to realize I might not be able to live without, it just a really great mascara and I’m not sure why it took me so long to realize how much I enjoy this as I’ve had it for a little while now.

Eyeliner – Physicians Formula 2 in 1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black – This is supposed to be a dupe for the Kat Von D liner, which was probably the best eyeliner pen that I have ever used so I was super excited to try this out. While I don’t think they are exactly the same, I think that they are close enough for me to want to use this one instead of the other, especially with the price difference. This is a very black eyeliner, it doesn’t dry out quickly and I find it to be the easiest eyeliner I’ve ever tried to work with.

Eyebrows – Essence Make Me Brow – This is one of the categories that I added, mostly because I feel like brows are very important now and something that shouldn’t be left out of a tag about Holy Grails. This stuff is so cheap, but it’s a really fantastic dupe of the Benefit one but for way less, which is one of the many reasons I love this. I also love this because it makes doing my brows super easy, it’s got just the right amount of pigmentation and makes my brows look fantastic with no effort.

Lip Liner – I own like four lip liners and rarely ever use them, I mostly own them from sets and gifts, but that’s alright. Since I rarely use them I don’t have anything that sticks for this one, so onto the next we go.

Liquid Lipstick – Beauty Bakerie Lip Whip – The one that is pictured here is Salted Caramel Mocha but really all of their Lip Whips are my favorite. I love these so much because they are fairly comfortable for liquid lipsticks but they have crazy lasting power, I find that most liquid lipsticks that last don’t really feel extremely comfortable but these ones aren’t too bad and only dry my lips out a little. These also come in a bunch of colors, both neutrals, classics and fun colors.

Lipstick – Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor – I almost regret listing this one as my favorite lipstick but at the same time I don’t, the other lipstick that I’m thinking about is the Nars Lipstick in Dolce Vita, but these two are fairly similar for me and I’m okay with this choice. This lipstick is something that I’ve been eyeing for a little while and I’m super glad to have this, this feels amazing on the lips and just looks so good, I’m a big fan of it. I also love that it’s blue but doesn’t apply that way, it’s just really interesting.

Lipgloss – Nyx Butter Gloss – I’m not a huge lip gloss person and I only own a few of them, but this is something that I would consider one of the best that I’ve ever tried, I personally only own a couple of them but I’m a huge fan of the ones that I do own.

Perfume – Pacifica Sugared Amber Dreams – I had to include this, this isn’t the fanciest perfume ever but it is my all time favorite, it smells amazing and just makes me happy. The smells sweet like vanilla but it’s something that’s not overly sweet, it’s got a warm scent to it, has unicorns on the packaging and I really just love it!

And those are all of my ride or die products, a pretty good mix of products and brands I think. This tag was really fun and I’m going to be annoying and tag anyone and everyone who reads this post and wants to do it, it was really fun. If you do this tag you should tag me in it so I can see what answers you guys have ’cause I would really love to read them all.

NYX First Impressions Haul

NYX First ImpressionsHaul

It’s time for my last haul of the month! And the last haul that I have planned for I don’t know how long, I’ve been on a no buy and I’ve done pretty well, so that’s why. I am sure there will be at least one haul in September, mostly because that’s my birth month and I’ll probably post what I got for my birthday/what I bought myself. Anyway, that’s not the point, the point of today is to talk about a few new NYX products that I picked up recently and give you guys a little bit of a first impression on them, so let’s just jump right on in.

3 Steps To Sculpt Your Face Sculpting Palette in Fair – First up is the guy, I don’t know what I was expecting size wise when I ordered this but this wasn’t it, I’m not sure that’s a bad thing though because this does seem like a pretty good size. I like this alright, I’ve played with it two or three times now and it’s just not as exciting as I wanted it to be, it’s not terrible either. The bronzer is a little bit more orangey than I would like, which is fine because I can still work with it but it’s not perfect for my skin tone. The matte highlight part is pretty nice, it’s a good match for an all over powder for me. Lastly the highlight, the highlight is pretty bad because it’s basically just glitter and really hard to work with.

Away We Glow Illuminating Powder in Crushed Rose – I think this is a blush, it’s really illuminating but it’s a blush for sure on me. I do like that though, that was pretty much why I bought it because when I saw it, it reminded me of a blush that I used to have and was in love with, this is not the same thing as that product but I still like this. It’s just a pretty, not in your face, illuminating blush.

Strobe Of Genius Holographic Stick in Mermaid Armor – This made me think of the Milk Makeup Holographic stick, which I do not currently own but want to try, however, this one was much more affordable which is why I picked it up. Also, I adore this name because of mermaids! This isn’t as great as I hoped it would be, it’s a little bit hard to work with and blend out, and once I do blend it out it seems to go away quite a bit, so I’m not a huge fan of that but this isn’t completely terrible either.

Liquid Suede Metallic Matte in Bella  – I was so excited about trying these! I never had any interest in metallic liquid lipsticks but now I’m wanting to try more and more, I guess I just really love these trends now. Anyway, I like this one a lot because it is very subtle, while it does have a metallic finish to it and some sparkle, it’s not overwhelming or binding which for someone like me is a good thing. I’m someone who is into this trend but doesn’t want things to be overly metallic, it’s just not what I’m into personally. I’m not always the most bold with my lipstick choices, this one makes me feel like I kind of am without being too out of my comfort zone.

So, overall I’m happy with this haul, there is some hit and miss within this tiny little haul but isn’t there always? I like most of it and don’t regret purchasing any of it. I think the metallic liquid lipstick is the star of this haul though.

Are you excited about any of the new NYX products?

The Palette Tag!

The Palette Tag

It’s time for another tag! I decided to do this tag after seeing it over on Quite Simply Stella‘s blog. I wasn’t exactly tagged to do this one but I wasn’t really not tagged either, meaning that post seemed like an open invite to tag yourself, which I love because I like doing tags and I’m probably going to do them anyway, but it’s nice feeling like you’ve been invited to do it. Anyway, enough rambling and into the tag.

1. What Was Your First Palette? Was the Urban Decay Book of Shadows III, I don’t think it was the original release of this palette but it was still the third one. I drooled over it ’cause I was like 16 and had no money, then my sister got it for me for Christmas and I was so excited. This was the first palette I ever used up an eyeshadow in and the palette that started my love of all things Sin.

2. Your Most Recent Purchase? I do not have either in my possession quite yet but I recently ordered two palettes. The first one is the Jeffree Star Androgyny Eyeshadow Palette, I still have mixed feelings about purchasing from the brand but I did cave and pick up three items because I just really wanted to try the products. The other is the BH Cosmetics Take Me Back To Brazil Eyeshadow Palette, I need no more makeup but I can’t help myself sometimes, I am a hoarder and have problems but I am excited to get my hands on so many fun shades of eyeshadow!

3. One That You Regret Missing Out On? The Anastasia Artist Palette , I feel like I would have had so much fun playing with this one but at the time I really didn’t know anything about the brand, so I missed out on this one.

4. One That Makes You Happy To Look At? This one was a weird one to me but I settled on the Tarte Swamp Queen Eye & Cheek Palette, mostly because I just really like looking at it, I like the overall design and I like Bunny so it makes me happy, even though I don’t use it quite as much anymore.

5. One That You’ve Changed Your Mind About? This one is a tough one, I feel like it’s for sure the Lorac Pro 3 though, I was obsessed with this one when I got it and I don’t think I hate it now but it’s just not something that excites me anymore, it’s kind of really eh.

6. One That Surprised you? We’re gonna talk about a highlight powder, the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette, everyone talks about it and seems to love it but for some reason, I was expecting it to be really awful and it wasn’t, I’ve only used it a few times thus far but I am really into it.

7. One That Inspires You Most? Is it cheating if I pick my own Z Palette? If so then I think the NYX Brights Ultimate Shadow Palette is probably my most inspiring, it has so many colors for be such a little palette but it’s so colorful and I always have a fun time playing with it.

8. One On Your Wishlist? A bunch of things are my wishlist, I’m a makeup hoarder and lover, but I am trying to keep myself contained. Anyway, I think at the top of my list is the Pretty Vulgar Pretty Birdie Eyeshadow Palette.

9. Your No Fail Palette? This has to be the Anastasia Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette, I just find this one so easy to work with and if I’m in a hurry but want to do eyeshadow it’s just such a quick palette for me to put together a look with. Everyone seems to be a big fan of this palette and I can see why I am also a huge fan of it.

10. One You Regret Purchasing? I recently bought a fair amount of new products from new brands at Ulta, which you will see an upcoming post about, but one of the things I kind of regret and that’s the Lottie London The Rusts Eyeshadow Palette. It’s not super expensive or anything but it was just so disappointing, I’ve only used it a couple of times though so I guess I’m going to try it out a little bit more and see if I can make it work before passing it along or chucking it.

And that was my palette tag, I always really enjoy doing tags and if you enjoy doing tags you should do this one too! And tag me in it so I can see your answers.

What is your all time favorite palette?

June 2017 Favorites + Face

June 2017 Monthly Favoritesand Face

This is my last monthly post, my monthly favorites, and face for the month of June. I kept it a little simple this month and kept it to the simple things that I loved this month, which means that I mostly focused on face products this month because I was really about a good base this month. Now, let’s jump into talking about my favorites for June.

Mac Fix + Coconut. I am obsessed with this stuff and I think that’s probably clear by now because I talk about this way too much, but I just really love this stuff! The light smell of coconut is so refreshing combined with the fact that it really tones down the look of powder on the face, I just really enjoy this stuff.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation in Porcelain. I posted a review of this a couple of weeks ago and by that review, you can probably tell that I love this foundation! This is a really amazing summer foundation I think, it’s light weight, looks fantastic on the skin and is just overall a great foundation.

City Color Contour Palette On The Go. This is something that I recently spoke about in my Five Below Finds posts, it was probably the star of that post and something that has made it’s way into my favorites post, which says something I think. This is completely affordable, has a little range of shades and the powder just feels really nice. I find this easy to work with and that it looks great on the skin, so I’m a big fan of this and it was really surprising.

Tarte Shape Tape in Fair is something that is well loved pretty much everywhere on social media and I can completely understand why this is a really thick and has high coverage, which is something that I actually find myself enjoying a lot. There is completely a reason why this is hyped up.

Buxom Full On Lip Cream in White Russian. I have a mini of this and this is something that I am for sure going to get a full size of once I run out of this. This is another product that I think has a cult following on the social media and I can understand why these are fantastic lip glosses and this color is just so neutral and flattering.

Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor. This is a blue lipstick and it changes to the perfect mauvey kind of shade on the lips, it’s really sheer, glossy and super comfortable to wear. It doesn’t have a lot of lasting power on the lips but it’s really pretty and I just love putting on blue lipstick and it not actually being blue.

Dermablend Loose Setting Powder. This is something that is on my project pan list and as I’m using it I’m falling for it more, it’s a really finely milled powder, it sets my makeup amazingly and lasts all day long.

Now, on to the look I created using my monthly favorites and some other things. I went for an eye look that I’ve worn a couple times this month just because it seemed to work. To the list of products I used for this look.

Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation in Porcelain

Tarte Shape Tape in Fair

Dermablend Loose Setting Powder

City Color Contour Palette On The Go

Laura Geller Baked Blush-N-Brighten Blush in Pink Grapefruit

Sephora Radiant Luminizing Drops in Morning Light

Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer

Colourpop Pressed Eyeshadow in On The Fence & Come and Get It

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow in Tuscan Sun & Cherry Cola

Mac Rose Pigment

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner in Noir

Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner in In The Nude

Urban Decay Liquid Liner in Perversion

Pur Volume Vixen Mascara

Essence Make Me Brow in Soft Brown Brows

Mac Fix + Coconut

Lipstick Queen in Hello Sailor

And those are all of the products that I used for this look, a good mix of high end and low end and pretty much all of the products that were on my favorites list this month, so it’s a good look that represented the month of June I think.

June 2017 Nail Wrap Up!

June 2017 NailWrap Up

It’s July! Happy July everyone! Can you guys believe that it’s already July? This year is flying by. It’s been a pretty good year for me personally but damn, I sometimes wish time would just slow down a little bit. Because of the new month I’ve decided to try out a new schedule, I do not think I can handle five days a week which I talked about in my last post, however, I do think it may be time to change it up a little and from now on I will be posting on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Unless I change my mind or completely hate that schedule, but until that time comes around we are on a new schedule.

Since it’s the start of a new month I plan on sharing all of the nail polish I’ve worn this month with you guys, I really love sharing about this because I am going through my nail polish and trying to find the duds. I didn’t wear a whole lot this month again but I am still going to share with you guys! Let’s get right into it with the first polish I wore!

This is actually two nail polishes, I’m pretty favorable of doing this if you couldn’t already tell, this is Zoya’ Brittany, which is a soft satin finish, with Zoya’s Leia overtop which gives it that really cool shift and sheen to it. Both of these nail polishes are fantastic and completely live up to the standards that I expect from the brand.

This one was so fun and I loved wearing it! I already want to put it back on my nails again but I’m trying not to double wear polishes until I’ve tried out all of the ones that I own, which is really hard to do. Anyway, this is another combo polish, I’m wearing Zoya Dot as the base and China Glaze Point Me To The Party overtop. I think this is one of the rare Zoya polishes that I don’t like and that I will be passing along,  it’s just too sheer and really hard to work with. As for the China Glaze polish, I love it! It’s really fun and I could see it working with a ton of different polishes and still looking amazing.

And this is the last one that I wore this month, I really didn’t get to wear a whole lot of nail polish and I’m completely blaming that on being so busy and just not feeling like doing it, but I’m wanting to try and test out some more nail polish this month, we’ll see how it goes. Anyway, this last one is Zoya Augustine, which is a really pretty light copper kind of shade that almost looks nude if you don’t see it shimmer, it’s very pretty and the formula is great, it is a little on the thin side but nothing that two or three coats can’t fix right up.

And those are all of the nail polishes that I’ve tried out this month, next month should have a little more I’m hoping. So that is it for this months nail wrap up, I’ll see you guys tomorrow with my monthly favorites.

What nail polish have you been rocking this past month?
