Try It: Stitch Fix

Untitled design (3)

Yes, it is time for something completely new from me! I’ve never tried Stitch Fix before and I was very excited to try it out, this may be a spoiler but I was also really happy at the end of this experience that I did get to try it out. So, let’s just jump right on into talking about this box!

20170913_090411We’re going to start this post out with the one and only thing that I kept this time around, and that is the pants. I adore these pants, I put them on and I was sold. I like the color of these quite a bit, the feel of these is nice and the fit is perfect. These pants are just amazing and I’m so happy about these, this box was completely worth it for these pants alone. These are from the brand Liverpool and they are the Adele Skinny Jean, they are petite jeans and they are dark olive color, which will be perfect for the fall and winter time.

I paired this with a really simple outfit, a pair of leopard flats and a brown and white striped loose fit long sleeve top, an outfit that I can feel becoming a staple in my wardrobe for the fall months.
20170913_090744For this outfit, I decided to use two of the items from the box because I thought they looked good together. The sweater and the jacket are from this box, the jacket was a bit small for me and the sweater was a little on the larger side. Let’s talk about the sweater first, I really wanted to keep the sweater, it was so comfy but I found that it was a little too big and  I just wasn’t sure if I wanted it because of how comfy it was or how it looked, so I sent it back. This sweater is from the RD Style brand and it’s the Rowca Scoop Neck Pull Over Sweater.

Now, as for the jacket, It was a little snug but it’s something that looks a lot like something else I already own, so that’s why I passed on this guy. This is from the brand 41Hawthorn Chaplin Lined Hooded Anorak Jacket, it’s gray, cute and a perfect weight for the fall time.

20170913_090954Now, we are going to talk about this top, this shirt was right up my alley. I love the stripes and I love the pop of pink color, it’s really simple but at the same time, it’s interesting. This went back because this was way too sheer, which you can’t tell from this picture but in person, it is very sheer, which is why I couldn’t keep this one. I wish it had been just a little thicker because this would be in my closet at this moment.

This is from the brand Colette and it’s the  Chavez Pop Color Cuff Knit Top. It’s super soft, really cute but like I’ve said too many times now, really sheer and just not for me.

Also, side note, this is probably the worst outfit in this post, not sure I love it.

20170913_091212And this is the last clothing item in this box, the last item as well, and that’s this cute plaid top. The reason this went back was that it gapped in the bust area but was loose everywhere else, so I thought if I sized up it might be too big everywhere and not look quite the way that I want it to. I did pick up a plaid button up at Old Navy on my birthday Old Navy trip last week, so I think that killed the plaid urge.

Anyway, this is from the brand Le Lis and it’s the Covington One-Pocket Tee, it’s a really simple and basic plaid shirt that I think would work in most closets, it just didn’t have the fit I wanted.

I know I only kept one item but I am still really happy with my experience with this box, I feel like this box was very tailored to my taste, I loved the look of every single piece in this box. The only complaint that I might have about this box is that I only had three days to decide what to keep and what to pass along, so with my post office being how they are, that means I really only had two days and that just doesn’t seem like a long time. I didn’t expect to have it for a month or anything but I did expect to have five to seven days at least. Overall though, I am super happy with this box and am already planning another one.

August 2017 Favorites + Face

August 2017 Favorites+ Face

I know, it’s Friday! And you might be wondering what I’m doing here, Friday isn’t one of my usual days to blog on and this isn’t a post that I would forget about seeing as I do it every month. I have put myself on a new schedule, pretty much for the same reasons as last time, I have so many ideas and so much content that I can’t get it out fast enough. However, I can not daily blog because that is something that I just couldn’t keep up with, so because of that I have settled on five days a week. I’ve done this before but I’m hoping to stick to it, I guess we’ll see how it went in the month of October, but until then you will be seeing me on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

Anyway, enough of my rambling about schedules and all of those boring things, it’s the start of a new month which means that it is time for some monthly favorites and face, so let’s just jump right on into this one.

PSX_20170826_172653

Milk Makeup Blur Stick – This is just a little sample size but I love this one! I have another little sample of it and once I’m through them I’m probably really going to debate purchasing a full size. This does not work like a primer if you ask me, it doesn’t really prolong the wear of my makeup, but it does make my face look poreless and smooth, it blurs if you will. The only downfall is the smell, it smells chemical and I don’t like it, it’s not too bad though.

NYX Blotting Powder in Light  – I think you can see that this is well loved, this has been my go to powder as of recently. I don’t think this is anything outlandish or out there, but it’s a nice powder and I’m happy with it.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara – This has been my new favorite mascara, especially combined with the product below, it just makes my lashes super wow and great. This is very black, it doesn’t really clump up that much and it makes my lashes super long.

L’oreal Voluminous Primer Mascara  – I have weird feelings about this, sometimes I wonder if this is really doing things for me but other times I know that it for sure is doing something, especially when paired with the mascara above. I have tried this with one other mascara and it just clumped up my lashes majorly, so I guess this one is something that you have to play around with in terms of which products you can use it with.

psx_20170826_171941.jpg

Pixi Glow Tonic Toner  – I love this stuff way more than I ever thought I would, this is my second bottle and I’m glad I kept using it. This makes my skin feel so soft and smooth, it also gives me a little bit of a glow I think, and I love that! This combined with the two cleansers I use is just a perfect combination, so I think I’m getting closer to my perfect skincare routine.

J.Cat Beauty Dry Makeup Brush Cleaner – This is something I didn’t think I would really need, I was using a hair doughnut and I think it was working just fine, however, I ordered this because I was curious and had my eye on it for quite some time and I’m glad that I did. I think this works better than my little hair doughnut and it catches all of the shadows fall out in the container, this is a fantastic purchase and a great bargain.

Mac Trip The Light Fantastic Powder in Strange New Worlds – This is the only product I couldn’t link because it is limited edition, some people don’t like to share limited edition product on their blogs due to lack of being able to get your hands on them, but sometimes I just really like a product and need to share it. This is a really light blush on me or a really great cheek topper, but I’m very favorable of it.

Tonymoly Peach Punch Sweet Foam Cleanser – This is something that I just started using this month even though I bought it months ago, but I guess it’s better late than never. I love this stuff! It has a really faint peachy scent, I personally find it gentle enough to use around my eyes and it leaves my skin feeling so clean, plus this is really affordable so really it’s win-win.

Eyes: Lorac Behind The Scenes Eye Primer, Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition Palette, Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner in Noir, Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-In-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black, L’oreal Voluminous Base Mascara and Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara. Face: Milk Makeup Blur Stick, Mac Strobe Cream, Dr. Jar+ Beauty Balm in Light/Medium, Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer in Light Neutral, NYX Blotting Powder in Light, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, Mac Trip The Light Fantastic Powder in Strange New Worlds and treStique Highlight Stick. Lips: Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Audition.

And that is the face that I chose for this month, this time around I kind of did a hybrid of creating a looking and picking a look out the represented the month. I think this month had a pretty good mix of products in it, both new and older and all things that I’m really loving.

What are some of your favorites from August?

Review: Too Faced Love Flush Blush

Too Faced LoveFlush BlushReview

I’m sure anyone who knows me somewhat well, or has read a few posts here on the blog, knows that I adore my Love Flush Blush in Baby Love, somehow I haven’t reviewed it on the blog but it’s something I love so much that I’ve included it in two yearly favorites, 2016 and 2015. Even though that one is well loved I may have to whip it out and review it too.

20170325_175044.jpgThat is not what today’s post it about, today’s post is about the Too Faced Love Flush Blush in How Deep Is Your Love? and that is what I will be reviewing for you guys today. This little guy will run you $26 for 0.21oz which I believe comes out to $123.81 per oz. Which is a ton of product and would last you a long, long time if you were to get an ounce of product. Anyway, I don’t think this is the most expensive blush but it is for sure in that mid range price range. However, I picked mine up during the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty Sale which meant it was half off, I’m still kind of kicking myself for not picking more up because, spoiler, I love the formula of these. I’m sure that was already probably clear by the first little bit of this post, me rambling about baby love, then again this is a different color so the formula could be different and something that I don’t find enjoyable, but it’s not. Anyway, let’s jump into reviewing this blush.

20170325_175107_001.jpgI want to start this out by talking about the packaging, you will see more of it in photos to come because this entire thing is the cutest and I couldn’t leave anything out because of how cute the packaging is as a whole. Seriously, from the box to the compact to the blush itself is just cute. This may be the best packaging that I own and possibly have ever seen, it’s just so cute. I may be overusing the word cute but this just makes me do that, it’s Too Faced’s fault.

As you can see, there is a lot of detail in the box and it’s all very appealing to look at if you ask me, but that’s probably enough since you guys can see for yourself. I will say, I was really tempted to keep this box but I stopped that hoarder inside of me from doing that.

Once you open the box and slip the product out, it’s the really cute and simple heart compact that matches the color of the blush, I’ll post a picture below so you can see.

20170325_175134.jpgIt’s very simple but reminds me of a magical girl, which makes me really happy because I love magical girls. I also love the packaging is slim and simple, it makes it easier to store and easier to travel with, not that I travel a whole lot anymore.

Anyway, once you open the product and look inside there is the blush itself, all of the beautiful powder and of course, that is also adorable,  I’ll share a photo after this one so you can see for yourself. It has bunnies and a design imprinted on it.

Now, to finally talk about the product itself, this blush probably has one of my favorite formulas that I have tried so far. It’s pretty pigmented, but I find that it is very easy to blend out for a softer and more diffused look but also really easy to build up for a brighter more bold kind of look. I love that this is so versatile.

20170325_175200.jpgThe powder itself is also very nice, it’s very soft and feels fairly finely milled, but I don’t find that I have a lot of kickback either, it’s a very nice texture for a powder to be.

The other thing about this is that it has really good staying powder, I find that this blush looks really nice throughout the day. It just wears really well.

Overall, I really love these blushes and think they are great quality, I would for sure recommend these to anyone who is looking for a really nice blush or wanting to treat themselves just a little bit, you won’t regret it. I really should have picked up more of these but it’s too late now.

20170325_175229.jpg

I had this photo and just wanted to make sure to share it because swatches are important to a review, I think. I wanted to make sure that you guys could see it a bit sheered out and at it’s full potency. It really isn’t the most pigmented thing ever but it does make it very easy to use and go in either direction, like I mentioned above.

So, what do you guys think of the Love Flush Blushes if you have any?

Lush Shoot for The Stars Bath Bomb Review

Time for another Lush bath bomb review and this is another one that I already have a review of but once again Lush brought this one back this year with a new look to it, which I’m kind of excited about but a little bit sad about at the same time because I actually really liked the Shoot For The Stars bath bomb last year. Oh well. Now we have a new design to talk about so let’s get into it.
