Stitchfix Fall 2018

Stitchfix Fall 2018

Hello there, today is all about Stitchfix. One year-ish ago I posted my very first Stitchfix kind of unboxing and since then I have done one for almost every season, and now fall has rolled around again so I thought it would be fun to do it again. Check out my summer one too, if you’re interested in all of the Stitchfix things. But for today I will be talking all about the fall season and my most recent Stitchfix Box, let’s dive right on in.

Sephora Play Box : June 2017

Sephora Play BoxJune 2017

It’s time for another Sephora Play box unboxing, this one is for the month of June, which I’m sure you could tell by the title and for the fact that I do one ever month. If you interested in checking out last months, feel free to. This month will be my last month with this box, it has officially been a year and while I enjoyed my time with this box, I’ve just not been super excited about the past couple boxes and I have so many samples, I went through the products I’ve gotten in the past and just decided to cancel my subscription. I might go back sometime, but for right now I think I’m done with it. Anyway, let’s jump into this months box.

Well, actually I’m going to start this out the way I usually do before jumping into the box itself, I’m going to talk about Mays box, my favorite and least favorite product from the last month. Let’s start with my least favorite, my least favorite was the GrandeLIPS Hydrating Lip Plumper. I’m just not super into lip plumpers and I really didn’t like this, so that’s why it’s my least favorite product. Now, let’s talk about my favorite product from last month which has for sure been the treStiQue Highlight & Perfect Multipurpose stick, this has a such a pretty shimmery finish to it that isn’t too much and I really love that about it. And now we can get into the box from this month.

June 2017 Sephora Play Box

First Aid Beauty Hello Fab Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer. This one is a mouthful, isn’t it? Yes, I think it is. I’m still excited about this, I’ve never heard of this product but it does sound like a product that I would really enjoy. So, I am excited to get to try this product out.

Benefit The Porefessional Face Primer. This is one of my favorites! I’ve had a sample size of this before and have a deluxe sized sample of this at this moment, this is probably the best primer that I’ve ever tried so I’m happy to have another little sample size of it because I do like this product.

YSL Black Opium. A perfume sample! I actually remembered to photograph one for once, which is, of course, the last time that I plan on doing it with this box. I did not like this sample, which is also probably no surprise seeing as I haven’t really liked any perfume samples that I’ve gotten so far.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in K-Dub. This is something I have mixed feelings about. I was so excited to see that this was included in this box, I’ve wanted to try the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid lipsticks for a while but haven’t pulled the trigger on them The color of this is just awful though, at least for me it is, I don’t wear a whole lot of bright or dark lip colors, but I’m trying to branch out however a Barney kind of purple isn’t the shade that I’m going for.

Ouai Rose Hair & Body Oil. I’m not so sure about this one, I’m not a big rose scent fan and I’m so so when it comes to oils, so we’ll see how this one goes. I have tried some products from this brand before and enjoyed them, so this may also be something I enjoy.

IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel. This one is another one that I am not sure about. I haven’t tried this yet but I’m really not sure what I’m supposed to do with gel, I’ll probably give this a go or two before I pass this along and see if this is something that I can get behind.

And that is the Sephora Play box for the month of June, and my very last one. I’m not super excited about this box and I think I made the right choice, I have so much stuff and I just haven’t been excited about this box in a little while. I will miss getting the box itself in the mail every month though, that was really fun and enjoyable but it’s just not the right fit for me I think.

If I were to try out another beauty box, which one should I try?

Sephora Play Box: May 2017

Sephora Play Box-May 2017

May is coming to a close which means it is that time of the month when I talk about the Sephora Play Box, which I am still getting. I believe I spoke about debating getting rid of the subscription last month, but I was talking about keeping this for a few more months so I could have it for a full year and decide if it’s worth keeping or not, I think that is still the plan. I’m going to spoil this post a little bit and say that as of right now I’m still leaning a lot towards canceling, the last box wasn’t great for me and this one isn’t my favorite either, but I’m going to keep it another month or two before fully deciding. Which means if next month I hate the box again I am going to cancel it but if I like it I’ll try for one more month.

Now, if you’ve been here before for my ‘unboxing’ then you know that I always talk a little bit about last month’s box first, meaning I am going to talk about my favorite and least favorite products from the last month. I’m going to start with my favorite and I think it has to be the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Boosting Face Mask, I think I’m considering this my favorite because of the fact that it is the only item from lasts months box that I have completely used up, I enjoyed it but I’m not sure that I would purchase the full size just because I’m not completely sure what this did for my skin, or if it even did anything. Now, to my least favorite which was the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recover PeelI believe this came with a few pads and I only used one, I wasn’t a fan of it so I just passed the others along, I dunno what it was about this entirely but it just turned me off and it wasn’t my favorite product ever, so that is why it was my least favorite from last month.

Now, with all of that out of the way, I guess we can jump on into talking about this months box.

I am clearly on my A game as of recently, if you couldn’t tell, and once again I have forgotten something, I have forgotten to photograph the little bag that this one came in and I’ve already thrown it away because I just didn’t see myself using it. It was a little clear, plastic envelope looking thing that had play plastered in red all over the front in various fonts, I just didn’t like it and didn’t really see myself using it. But, anyway, let’s get into this month now.

Let’s start with the perfume sample, that is as usual not photographed because they pretty much instantly get passed on or tossed as I don’t usually like them. It was the Nest Black Tulip Perfumea full sized, 1.7 oz bottle will run you $72.00 at Sephora. I actually didn’t hate this perfume, it was a little bit floral and a little bit sweet while not being overpowering, but my Fiancee hated the scent of it so I passed it on because I wasn’t that attached to the scent. Every so often I have to come across one I don’t despise.

This next one is something that I’m just not super excited about, mostly because I am not a huge fan of lip plumpers, this next item is the Grande Cosmetics Grande Lips Hydrating Lip PlumperYou can purchase the full size for $27.00 at Sephora and it’s 0.05 oz, which doesn’t really seem like a whole lot to me, but anyway I haven’t tried this yet but I’m not really excited about it, I will give it a shot though and see if it does anything and if my feelings towards it might change.

Another thing I’m not super excited about, that’ll probably be the theme with the box this entire month, this is a hair care product and this is the Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea SaltYou can pick up the full 8.33 oz tub at Sephora for $53.00, which is a bit steep. I will say this, I’m not super excited about this but I am still a little bit interested in this because I have tried a sea salt shampoo from Lush before and quite enjoyed it, I’m just not sure that I’ll enjoy this as much knowing the hefty price tag that comes with it, but I will give it a shot and find out what I think of it very soon.

This is my second sample I’ve gotten of this product recently, however, I’m okay with it because I didn’t get them from the same place, that product is the Milk Makeup Blur StickI’ve actually tried this out already, well not this exact what but this product and so far I’m really liking it so it’s probably the best thing that I received in this box.

I’m completely on the fence about this one, mostly because I don’t really know enough about it, so it falls kind of in the middle as something that I’m not sure about yet and that is the. Tata Harper Resurfacing MaskYou can purchase the full 1oz Size at Sephora for $58.00, which seems a little bit steep for me but we will see what I think of it after I use it a couple of times.

I’ve never heard of this brand before at all, this is probably the only brand I haven’t really heard of, but I’m still excited to try out the product that I was sent and that product is the treStiQue Highlight & Perfect Multipurpose Stick The full 0.21oz size will run you $34.00 at Sephora. I swatched this and I’m really impressed with it, I can’t wait to give it a go one the face because it really just looks so pretty.

Overall, I’m just not super into this box, it’s not the worst box I’ve gotten so far but it’s just not exciting to me, I wouldn’t even consider this one middle of the road. I’m hoping next months box is great!

What do you think of the Sephora Play Box for May?

Sephora Play Box: April 2017

Sephora Play BoxApril 2017.png

It’s another month! Well, the month is actually almost over, only 4 more days left in April and I can honestly say that I’m pretty happy about that. I have nothing against April, but this year has gone by so far and April appears to be dragging on forever and I’m kind of ready for it to be over. I’m sure once it’s over time we’ll start moving way too quickly again, but I’ll just have to deal.

image

I’m going to start this out the way that I usually do, before showing off what I got in my box this month I’m going to tell you a little bit about the last month, more specifically the best and the worst of the last month. Let’s just get the bad out of the way and talk about my least favorite product, which was the Verb Ghost Oil. I’m going, to be honest here and say that I did not use this product at all, I don’t really like hair products and I never like hair oils, so I just went and passed this along but I’m considering this the worst of the last month because I didn’t even use it. Now, on to happier things, the best product from last month which I think was the Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm, I wasn’t sure what this product was or how to use it really, but I’ve just been using it underneath my makeup and it’s just really pretty, give a really soft and subtle glow from within. I would actually debate buying a full size of this, not completely sold but maybe I will. And now that I’ve told you about my favorites and least favorites, we can get into the April Box.

20170419_074249.jpg

I got a little sample towelette of some sort of fragrance but I don’t have it anymore and have no idea what it was,  all I can say is it wasn’t the worst smelling thing that I’ve ever smelt but it wasn’t great either, I’m not itching to get my hands on a bottle of it.

Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel. That is a long name for a product, that is for sure a mouth full. I think I understand what this product is but I’m not completely sure that I do, so if it’s what I think it is I’m kind of excited to try it out but this is for sure something that I’m going to need to look more into.

Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner in Matte Black.  This is something else with a long title but that’s alright. This is something that I think is a staple thing to have, it’s a black eyeliner pencil, you can never really have too many of these. I am not super excited about this though because I do not currently own a pencil sharpener, so maybe I’ll have to pick one up to be able to use this one, either that or I’ll just pass this along because I’m sure I know someone who can use this.

Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover. This is the saddest size sample of makeup remover that I have ever seen, especially since it is Sephora’s own in-house brand, but I guess I can’t complain too much as this is something that I will for sure use, it’s just a bit smaller than I expected it to be.

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Boosting Face Mask. I guess you could say that I was excited about getting this because I’ve already tried this, I really wanted to and I’m not quite sure why. I think it may be because I’ve been much more into skincare as of recently so I really enjoy being able to try new skincare. This smells awful until it’s smeared onto the face, then it smells really delightful on the skin, it smells a lot like fresh oranges and I rally like that.

Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer.  Oh, my gosh, I am tired of getting samples of this product, I have a mini size that I bought, I’ve received two of these sizes in this box and one or two in Ulta sample bags, so I’m set on this. This isn’t my favorite primer, it’s not bad or anything but it’s just that I have so much of it that I don’t really see any need in trying out any other primers and as we all probably know, I like to try out makeup.

So, last months box was a little bit disappointing and so is this months, if I’m being completely honest I’m just not excited about the products that are in here. I am interested in the Fresh face mask and will probably use it up, I will also probably use up the primer and makeup remover but I’m just not excited about it. I’m kind of debating dropping this box but I’m not sure yet, I’m really thinking about keeping this for a year and then deciding, so that will be in July. I think that’s what I’m gonna do, see how the next three boxes go and then look over everything and decide if I want to keep getting this.

Did you guys enjoy your box this month?
