Why January 2020 Was Awesome + Goals

I am excited for it to be February, this January wasn’t nearly as bad as last year but I am happy to see it gone. January is probably the hardest month of the year and the longest, while it hasn’t felt excruciatingly long it has gone one forever. Though I must say that at the time of writing this I do have a few days left in the month, so maybe that will make things seem longer and worse, but for now it has not been too bad. So, let’s chat a little more down below.

This month seems to be moving at a snail’s pace, it hasn’t felt dreadful but it’s been slow. Work has been fairly slow as well, which is bittersweet because it makes it feel longer but it also means that I have more time to get ahead on my blog posts. Yes, I write blog posts while I’m at work, but my work comes first so I get what I need to be done before I go to town over here.

I think this is a fairly standard thing for me to say but I feel like nothing too exciting has been going on with me this month. We saw some friends at the beginning of the month to celebrate a late Christmas and that was really fun but other than that nothing really sticks out. I have had a pretty chill month full of some reading, packing and working. Not really exciting but I rarely am ever exciting.

The things going on in my life that are exciting are all house related. We are moving in finally, everything is finished and it looks amazing, I’m super happy with how everything has turned out and while there have been moments that were stressful I think overall I am happy we did it. Everything is exactly the way that we want it and I can’t wait to show it off, which I will be doing an empty house tour this month so keep a lookout for that if you guys are interested in that sort of thing.

There have been some hiccups in the final hour, but I am hoping those will get straightened out by the time this post goes up or very close to when this goes up. I’ll update you guys on those things next month I guess.

Now, let’s talk about the goals that I set for myself last month starting with making an orthodontist appointment which is something that I did not do. Honestly, I am not surprised that I didn’t, I am a big baby and I guessed that I wouldn’t when I wrote it. Turns out past Nicole was right and I didn’t. Meditating three times a week did not happen either, this was something that I would have really enjoyed and probably would have helped me out, instead, I have wasted my mornings hiding in bed. Driving more was not something that I did, I did not drive a single time this month and I am a little bit embarrassed to say that.

I feel like February is going to be a busy month for me but I still want to set some goals and maybe these ones I will actually stick with, maybe. My first is decluttering, because I am in an endless relationship without along with the fact that I will be moving this upcoming month so I am sure it will happen naturally. I do want to start meditating, it just sounds like something that I want to try and that may help me, so I’m going to try and focus on this one. I really just need to set aside some time to relax and calm down, so I think that will help. I would like to drive more. I am throwing this one back in because I really need to get back at it, I was doing so well and then I fell off and I need to be more consistent with it and learn to drive better.

And that is January for me, it’s been a pretty good month and I am happy with it, but I am excited to see what February brings for me.

How was your January?
