Revisit: Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor

I am revising a favorite that I feel like I haven’t taken out of my stash in a year at least, so this seemed like a perfect time and reason to pull this one out and try it again. This is a fun one I think and if you are curious to see what I think of this one now, stick around and read on.

This is the Hello Sailor color-changing lipstick from Lipstick Queen, this one will run you $25.00 and I personally picked mine up from Ulta.

This one has been a long time favorite of mine and I wanted to get it out and share my thoughts on this one again. This one does seem like a bit of a gimmicky kind of product but I kind of like it, maybe I’m just easily entertained? I’m not sure, but either way, I think this one is fun.

Let’s take a minute to talk about the packaging, I quite like the packaging as it feels rather nice and slick, almost cool to the touch and strangely enough, I like that. The packaging is very straightforward and it’s very blue, which makes a lot of sense seeing as that’s the whole gimmick with this one. So, overall I think the packaging is nice, it’s very sleek, simple and feels rather nice to the touch which I enjoy.

Let’s get into the real nitty-gritty of this product and that is the formula, wear, and color. The formula of this isn’t completely a lipstick, which might annoy some people and others will like it, this is more of a tinted balm kind of formula which I personally like. I will say that this isn’t super moisturizing but it does leave my lips feeling somewhat moisturized and the wear feels really fantastic.

Lasting power isn’t really great on this one, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise when I say that this has a formula that is more like lip balm than anything else. I don’t mind that considering I really love the color and the feel, but be aware of that if you hate having to apply product multiple times a day.

The color of this is super pretty, it does take a minute to really fully get rid of that blue tint to this, but once it does get rid of that this turns into the prettiest shade of mauve I have ever seen on my lips. This lipstick creates the perfect flush of my lip but better and I love that, it’s a really easy shade to wear and it looks great with any look that I am going for.

I think you can probably tell by now that I still really like this product, I understand why this was in so many favorites and was even in a yearly favorite post, this lipstick is really comfortable, easy to were and pretty on the lips.

What do you think of color-changing lipsticks?
