It’s a new year and I am excited about that, I’m also excited about the fact that I have the day off. Of course, I am writing this in advance so I am looking forward to a couple more days off, I really need some time to relax but for now it’s time to talk about the year of 2020 and some goals that I am going to set for myself, I guess some might call these resolutions, either way let’s dive in.
I’m going to try and keep this short but anyone who has been here before probably knows that I am not very good at that, I tend to ramble and I have a lot of things in mind that I want to focus on this year, but I will try to keep it not too terribly long.
I’m not sure where to start but I’m just going to start by saying that I want to push myself to read more, this year. I read a lot as it is but I am setting my reading goal even higher this year and I am excited about it. I have so many books already that I want to try and scale back my book purchases, I’m not sure that I’ll be able to do so but I have so many books that I haven’t read that I need to stop purchasing and start focusing on the ones that I haven’t read. My TBR pile has gotten a little bit out of hand. The last book-related thing I want to mention is that I would love to start blogging about books more often, I don’t ever talk about them hardly but I want to change that. I love to read and I want to be able to talk about anything I want to on the blog, so keep an eye out for more book-related content.
Now to move onto the cliche things starting with meditation which is something I have done on and off this entire year but I really want to focus on sticking to this, it just seems like something that I would really benefit from doing consistently. Now for the most cliche of all, I wanna get into a good workout groove, I have been saying this for months and I have no idea if a new year will really get me motivated but I am hoping to get into a grove. Eating out goes with working out I think, I have been trying to eat lunch out less and I’ve done pretty well at that but I am hoping to focus on this more.
I am endlessly working on my social media presence, I want to continue to work on it because I feel like I am horrible at all social media. I have a followers goal I have set for myself that I am hoping to hit, I’m not sure how I’m going hit that but I am going to try again this year. I am always trying to improve my content and better my writing, I want to do that for as long as I have a blog. I also want to branch out more which I talked about a little bit above, I just want to talk about more things that I enjoy and not feel so stuck in a makeup content rut.
Another goal that I am constantly working on is my spending. I have done pretty well this year but haven’t gotten to a point where I feel like I want to be, so I will continue to work on this. I said this last year but have not done the greatest with it so I want to throw it on the list again, I want to only purchase things that are cruelty free. This doesn’t mean I will be getting rid of things that I own that aren’t cruelty-free, I just don’t want to purchase anymore. I think I have this one this year. I really want to use less single-use products, I know that I won’t be able to be super green but I do want to work towards using less single-use products, which means that I won’t be buying any more sheet masks once I am through the mass amount that I already own. Lastly, I would like to use up 500 products this year, which is a huge goal but I think I am going to include things like like sheet masks in this goal, so I think I can crush it.
I have been needing to work on this really consistently and have mentioned it a lot of times, that is driving. I had a good groove there for a little while but have not really been driving enough. I have been avoiding this for whatever reason but I really want to make an orthodontist appointment, it’s something that I’ve wanted to do forever but have kind of been terrified of. I want to get even more organized and honestly, I think just being in our house will make this happen for me, so I am looking forward to that.
And to finish off as always I want to improve myself, I think you can always be working to being a little bit of a better person and that’s what I want to work towards every single year.
