Can you guys believe that it’s already the last day of 2019? I sure can’t. This weird has felt so strange in terms of time, I look back at January and posts from January that feel like ten years ago, but it also feels like this year was gone in a blink of an eye. Time sure is a funny thing that way. Because it’s the last day I thought I would recap the year, this post might be long I’m not really sure yet, but I want to recap the year a little bit, talk about the goals I set or myself this year and check in on a couple other things, so let’s just dive right in.
2019 has been a pretty good year as a whole, I think back and I don’t think back to too many exciting things but that doesn’t bother me. This year has been fairly chill and a good one, even if it’s not been packed with adventures left and right.
I think that the biggest thing that went on this year is our house, we are building a whole entire house and I am so excited about it. I was hoping it would be finished in the year 2019 but it looks like it’s going to be finished the first month of 2020, I am a little disappointed but I am happy that it’s coming along and looking exactly like we have planned. I’m ready for it to be finished and excited to move in. That house is really coming along and I love it already.
I feel like that is the only really big thing that went on this year of interest, this year has been a lot of work, hanging out and just kind of laying low, which was kind of nice and peaceful. Maybe I’m boring but I’m alright with the fact that I kind of just laid low this year, though I have lots of other more mundane things to talk about.
I want to talk about the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of the year and see how those went, you can see the original post here. I feel like number one on this list is probably no surprise but I did not get into shape this year, I attempted to a few times but haven’t stuck to it, I don’t have much of a reason to not have started and stuck to it other than I haven’t.
I crushed my reading goal this year, I read 65 books when I set my goal for 64. I guess crushing it might not be the word to use but I got to my goal and beyond a little bit. I have kind of dealing with my anxiety, I did go to a doctor and I am on medication, which has done wonders for me and I am so glad that I went to talk to someone about that. I mentioned working on my spending, I have been working on that all year, I’m not where I want to be yet but I have done better this year and have been working on it.
I said that I wanted to work on my social media habits and I think I have done better this year, once again I don’t think I am where I want to be but I have been working on it a lot. As for my follower’s goals that did not go as well, I don’t want to get too much into that because I did not do great on that one. I think that pretty much covers everything that was in this list, so let’s move on to my makeup low-buy and how that went, which you can see the full original post over here.
The one in and one our method hasn’t worked for masks for me and didn’t work for lipstick, I decluttered a ton of lipsticks this year but I didn’t really stick into the one in and one out technically. I also bought face masks as I wanted to, though I didn’t go too crazy with those I think, that and I have used up quite a few I am just not sure that it really counts as one in and one out.
As for sheet masks I think I stuck to my rule, two out and one in, though at some point this year I decided to stop purchasing sheet masks. As for candles, I did not stick to this rule, I have finished a couple of candles and I have purchased a handful but not too many, I hope to get through some of these once we are in the new house.
I have used up a bunch of products and will be posting all about that in the next couple of weeks, I have used up all kind of things and have made some pretty good progress. As for being cruelty-free, I have been trying to keep up on that but I know I have broken that a handful of times
The last thing that I want to go over are the brands that I wanted to try in 2019, which you can see that full post here. I have almost checked everything off this list, the only two I have tried out Herbal Dynamics Beauty and Acure. So basically only the skincare brands that are in this list, maybe I’ll knock these two out in the next year, we’ll see. I’ll probably do another one of these as well.
I would say that is basically my year all wrapped up, so I guess I will see you guys in the new year with some new goals and exciting content.
How did 2019 treat you guys?
