I have always loved to paint my nails and now I am getting more into nail art, I’m not good at it really but I’m still new to it and I am trying, so I figured it was time to try out some stamping plates. I ordered a couple when I placed this order but I am only featuring one, so I thought I would share my thoughts on my first few uses with this brand of stamping plates, also stamping plates in general.
This is the Deck the Nails Stamping Plate from WhatsUpNails and will run you about $7.75. This comes with a dozen different designs on it and all of them are very festive and just perfect for the time of the year, in fact, I had a hard time trying to decide which ones I wanted to use first and was going to feature here. I wanted to keep it tame so I settled on three, which is a pretty typical amount of looks for me to want to share on blog posts. Three just feels like a good amount without being too much.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with a stamping plate really but I was hoping that this one was easy to use and it for sure is, picking out what polishes to use is still new to me and I’m learning about that. I know they make stamping polishes and I do have some of those, all of which I used in this post. I know you can use regular polishes as well and do all sorts of other things but I am working my way there.
These are the three nail polish looks that I did using this stamping plate, I had a little issue with each one but overall I think they look pretty decent and am happy with them. The first one is a little bit wonky, it’s not quite as straight as I would have liked it to have been but otherwise I really like it. The second one I think I just picked the wrong shade to go with that blue, I wanted snowflakes that were a darker blue but they didn’t quite work as well as I would like, so I went for silver and you almost can’t see it. The last one is pretty cute but I think I used too dark of a base color, the red didn’t show up as well as I would have liked.
Overall I am really happy with these stamping plates and think they are pretty great, the designs are cute and I think with some practice I will be able to master it but I think for now the problem is more with me than it is the stamping plate and I could see myself picking up more of these in the future, so long as I can get the hang of it.
Have you ever tried to use stamping plates?
