I thought that this would be the perfect thing to take another look at, not only did I review this last year around this time but I also think they have released this year as well, so it seems like the perfect time to dig this one up and see how it goes. Let’s get into it and see if I still like this one as much as I once did.
I am throwing it back and talking about a palette that I really loved last year when I first tried it out and that is the Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Eyeshadow Palette. This one will run you $49.00, is currently available and eighteen different shades of eyeshadow. This palette contains multiple finished from matte, to satin and even metallic. It has a good mix of warmer toned shades and a good mix of finishes that make it easy to come up with a good look, which is something that I appreciate.
Before we get into the formula and all of that jazz let’s talk about the packaging for a minute. I do really like this packaging, particularly because it feels more sturdy than your typical eyeshadow palette packaging. I think the tin is nice, it feels nice and looks nice, along with the fact that it actually closes properly. I like the color of this alot and think that while the design itself is a little bit plain, it’s still really cute and fits with the theme perfectly. I like the way that the shadows are laid out on the inside and I like that there isn’t a lot of wasted space between the eyeshadows. Just overall I am a big fan of the look of this one and am happy with the design of it.
Now it’s time to talk about formula and share the three looks that I came up using this palette, which I really like all three. I think that these three looks really show off the range of this palette, it shows off something really warm on the right, something neutral and easy to wear in the middle, and something a little bit more colorful and fun on the left.
The mattes in this palette are actually really nice and easy to work with, they are a tiny bit dusty but nothing that I can’t handle. They are also a little on the lighter side of things in terms of pigmentation, they are fairly easy to build up though so it’s not too bad having them be a little lighter. The shimmers and metallics are really where it’s at though, I feel like these really shine in this palette. I think it’s really easy to build up the shimmer in these eyeshadows with very little effort. I am really happy with the formula of these shadows as a whole, they work really well together and they blend out super well. Plus they all go together really well and make great looks, so if you are into a warm-toned palette then you would probably like this one.
I am still a big fan of this eyeshadow palette just like I was last year, I don’t talk about it nearly enough but I think a lot of that is because of the theming of this one. Since this one is very clearly wintery themed and it’s limited edition, I don’t break it out as much but I do really love the look and application so I think I’m going to break this out more often than I have been in the new year.
