Monthly Palette Intro

I recently did a huge declutter by doing 100 days of eyeshadow, though it may have ended up being a wee bit more than 100 days, but that helped me really clear out my collection of things I just wasn’t using and didn’t like. I still want to refine my collection but I don’t want to do the same thing again, so I have decided to do a monthly palette challenge and in this first post I will set up my guidelines and such.

I think I am going do something kind of like what I did last time except on a longer scale, so what I am thinking that I will be doing is picking five palettes out and doing three looks for each, at the end of those three looks I will decide if the palette is something that I want to explore further or if it’s just not for me. I know three looks may not seem like much but I think it’ll be a pretty good way of seeing what kinds of looks I can create and how this product itself performs. I am still trying to be a little bit cutthroat with this because I am hoping to still minimize, however I won’t be getting rid of things that I will use and enjoy, so we’ll see how this goes.

The way that I am going to pick out what palettes to try out each month is random, I have placed the names of all of my palettes on a wheel online, so when I go to pick out what I’m using each month I will go to that and chose at random.

This month I won’t have any looks to share with you guys but every other month from now on I will, I’ll share three looks from each palette and a little mini-review of what I thought about each one. Then I will share the picks for the next month, which you can see this month just above. A good mix of products I think, I guess this month there will be a lot of colorful looks coming out of me.

This month will feature the Coloured Rain Vivid Pigments Palette and boy is this one bright, but I guess that should be expected out of something called vivid pigments. I haven’t tried this nearly enough and all those colors are really calling to me.

Too Faced Tutti Frutti Razzle Dazzle Berry Eyeshadow Palette is one that I have enjoyed every time I have used it, I’m a bit on the fence about this one though because I personally find it on the harder side to come out with various looks.

Anastasia Riviera Palette is one that I like even more than I thought I would, I think that the color story makes for a really fantastic eye look and lots of options, which is what I really love in an eyeshadow palette. Plus this packaging is pretty fantastic.

Sugarpill Fun Size Palette is one that I had to have, which isn’t unusual for me as I am such an impulse shopper, however, I haven’t really tried this one yet. No surprise. I am excited to give this one a whirl because I love the fun pastel shades.

The last one is the Anastasia Modern Renaissance and as you can see this one has been well-loved, which is no surprise since this one is such a cult classic palette. I feel like it has been a minute since I’ve pulled this one out so I am glad to be knocking that little bit of dust off.

I am very excited about this, I am excited to get to try everything out and really decide if they are things I need. I’m also excited to play with makeup and hopefully, this will give me the motivation to tinker and get creative. I guess we’ll see next month how it actually goes.

Have you decluttered areas of your life recently?
