Full Face of Dupes

I thought I would challenge myself a little bit and also do something a little bit different and fun, and that is a full face of dupes. I did my entire face using dupes and will be evaluating the differences today, I won’t go as in depth as I do on my focused dupe posts, as I don’t want this post to drone on for hours, but I will be sure to make the differences clear and find out if I think these products are dupes. So, let’s get chatting.

Primer: e.l.f. Poreless Pitty Primer $8.00  vs. Tatcha The Silk Canvas $52.00 – I have a full dupe post on these ones here so I won’t go too much into this one. But, these two have a huge difference in price point, $44.00 to be more precise and I don’t think these two are really similar but there is a slight difference. The Tatcha smells better and wears longer, but the e.l.f. one is more glowy and much more affordable. Splurge or Save: Splurge

Foundation: Milani Conceal & Perfect Foundation in Porcelain $9.99 vs. Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in Snow $39.00 – These two have pretty much the same end result, in fact, these two shades are even a pretty good dupe for each other. The biggest difference that I noticed with these two was that the Too Faced is a much thinner and easier to spread formula whereas the Milani is thicker and almost a little mousse-like, so it’s a wee bit harder to spread. Concealer: Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer in C1 $7.00 vs. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Fair $27.00 – I think these two are really close to being dupes and while I know a lot of people love the Makeup Revolution over the Tarte, I am not one of them. I think both are great, they don’t crease and they look really nice on the skin, however, I do think that the Tarte Shape Tape gives me a little bit more coverage and I prefer that. Powder: Wet ‘n Wild Color IconBronzer in Reserve Your Cabana $3.99 vs. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light $48.00 – This is another one with a really huge price difference, this one also has a $44.00 price difference which is a serious chunk of change. However, I do not think these two are total dupes, they are really close but I can notice a slight difference in the two as the Wet ‘n Wild one is much more glowy and pigmented, so be aware of that. Bronzer: Milani Silky-MatteBronzing Powder in Sun Kissed $9.99 vs. Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer $30.00 – This is the first dupe in this post where I am flat out saying that these are not dupes, this was something I was trying to compare as they looked alike to me and I don’t own a lot of bronzers, so I didn’t want to purchase one for this post. I was wrong and these two are not dupes, the Milani one is much more pigmented, a tinge darker and warmer toned than the Benefit, which is also easier to blend out on the face. And I hate to say it but I would pick the Benefit over the Milani in this case. Splurge or Save: Splurge

Blush: Milani Rose Powder Blush in Romanic Rose $8.99 vs. Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Baby Love $26.00 – I think this is one of the best dupes that I have in this post, these are basically the same product, seriously, if you blindfolded me during application I don’t think I could tell the difference in formula or in shade. And baby love is one of my favorite blushes ever, so a cheaper version of it is a welcome addition. Splurge or Save: Save

Highlighter: Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter in Starlight $9.00 vs Coverfx Custom Enhancer Drops in Celestial $42.00 – These two are kind of a like, the finished product looks basically the same but the difference is in the application. The CoverFX just blends out better and offers better pigmentation, though I think the Makeup Revolution has plenty of shine to it as well, it’s just a little more glittery and a little bit harder to blend out. Eyeshadow Primer: Milani Eyeshadow Primer $6.99 vs. Too Faced Shadow Insurance $20.00 – I have had to Milani eye primer in my drawer for a little while now and I am glad that I finally tried it out. These two basically preform exactly the same, I found that I got the same amount of wear time out of them, neither creased and both were easy to work with. The Milani formula is a tiny bit thicker but I don’t really mind that at all. So I am super happy with this dupe because my Too Faced primer is getting low and I won’t have to repurchase. Eyeshadow Palette: Bad Habit Beauty After Shock Palette $12.00 vs. Huda Beauty Electric Obsessions Palette $27.00 –  The shades in these two match up really well, but I do find a slight difference between the formulas. I found that the Bad Habit palette has slightly more pigmented mattes but it also comes with more fallout. The Huda Beauty shimmers perform way better and is way more shimmery, the entire formulation blends better on this palette. I think the Bad Habit one is still a fantastic palette though, it’s mostly just the shimmers that are a touch of a letdown. Splurge or Save: Splurge

Eyeliner & Mascara: I didn’t have any dupes planned for these so I just used the same ones for each eye.

Brows: NYX Micro Brow Pencil $10.00 & Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz $21.00 – The formula and application of these two are spots on the same, the shades that I have were not, but I think that’s more of an error on my part than it is the product. I am not much of an eyebrow kind of girl though so I might not give the best critique. Splurge or Save: Save

Lips: NYX Liquid Suede Lip Cream in Soft Spoken $7.00 vs Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita $20 – These two are so close to being the same shade, you might even think that they are in the photo, however when they are put up against one another side by side, I think that the Kat Von D is a little bit darker, but otherwise these two are so close I don’t see why anyone would need both, I do prefer the NYX Formula, I don’t think it lasts nearly as long but I think that is is more comfortable which is what I tend to prefer. And now that we are to the end, any guesses on which side is high end and which is drugstore? If you guessed that the right side of this photo is the high end then you would be correct, the right side in the photo is high end and the left is a drugstore.

I wanted to check in towards the end of the day as well just so you guys could see how everything wore. As you can see, all of the lipstick is gone but that is not shocking as I ate tacos this day along with the fact that this is probably a good ten or eleven hours later. The foundation has broken down on my nose a little bit but everything else seems to be intact so I am quite happy with the results of this face.

Would you guys like to see more in-depth dupe posts about any of these products?
