2018 Holy Grails

holy grails (2)

Hello there, today is all about holy grail products, aka my all time favorite products. I have pretty much done this before because I did do the ride or die tag at one point, and this is basically what I am doing today just with more categories. Since I had done this so long I thought it would be time for a good update on products, see what has changed and what I am still really loving.

Holy Grails 2018 (1)

Primer Benefit The Porefessional – This has been a long time favorite at this point, ever since I first tried this I loved this, it just does everything that I want it to. This helps prolong the wear of my makeup a little bit I think but most importantly it perfects the way my skin looks and leaves me looking nearly flawless, which I love. My only slight bone to pick with it is the scent, it’s just not my favorite as it is kind of floral.

Foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless – This is the only foundation that I have ever repurchased so I think that is saying a lot about this one, last year this wasn’t in my holy grails but this year it for sure it. This feels so weightless on the skin, doesn’t break me out, gives me the coverage that I’m looking for and is overall just a really fantastic product.

Concealer – e.l.f Cover Everything Concealer in Corrective Yellow & Tarte Shape Tape Concealer – I’m not much of a color corrector kind of girl, but when my under eye bags are looking particularly dark I go for this e.l.f. concealer because it is fantastic for that purpose, it’s super creamy, doesn’t crease and just does what I want it to do. The Tarte Shape Tape is more of an everyday kind of concealer and it has been a holy grail for a little while now. I don’t know what else to say about this concealer other than it is fantastic.

Setting Powder – Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder – This is my current favorite setting powder, I feel like my favorite setting powders jump around a lot and that is due to me not being able to tell a huge difference between them. It feels like I either really like them or I don’t, and this one is for sure one that I am loving, there is a ton of product and it makes my face look matte and flawless without looking cakey, which is nice.

Contour – NYX HD Blush in Taupe – This is a product that I always come back to, I go off and try other products and think that I am missing out on some grand thing, so I try other things and always end up giving up on them to come back to this one. I like this one because it can be built up really easily and it feels like the perfect contour shade for me. Does anyone know if these are being discontinued? Because I could only find it on the NYX website and it’s sold out.

Blush – Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Baby Love – This is still one of my holy grail products because this one is amazing, it’s as simple as that. This color is the perfect natural shade for me and it goes with every look I could ever create, that combined with the fact that it’s really easily buildable and lasts like nothing else and I would say this is the best blush ever.

Highlighter – Nars Eyeshadow in Andromeda – This one is new and barely made it in here as I have only had it for about a month-ish, but I already know that I am in love because I find myself reaching for it over other things. And yes, I do know that this an eyeshadow but I really think this makes for a fantastic highlighter, it’s the perfect amount of glow to it, not too much and not too little.

Eyeshadow Base – Too Faced Shadow Insurance & NYX White Base – Has been my favorite forever and will probably continue to be my favorite until I try another one, but even then I’m not so sure anything can knock this out of my favorites. This little tube lasts me forever and it really prolongs the wear of my eyeshadow without creasing. The NYX white base is my favorite for when I really want to make something pop because it does a fantastic job at making all shadows pop without creasing, though it does feel a tiny bit greasy I can look past that.

Eyeshadow – Anastasia Modern Renaissance & Wet ‘N Wild Creme Brulee – This palette is a cult favorite and for good reason, it is a great one. I always go back to this one when I want something familiar or just warm-toned, it is super easy to work with and just a fantastic product overall. The single is my staple cream eyeshadow, I’ve gone through probably five of these at this point and they do exactly what I want them to, they set my eyeshadow base or help blend out other shades, which is all I am looking for in a cream eyeshadow.

Eyeliner – Rimmel Exaggerate in In The Nude & Physicians Formula Eye Booster in Ultra Black – The Rimmel eyeliner is the eyeliner that I use most frequently for my waterline, I’ve gone through probably two or three of these at this point and I really like them. There is a tiny part of me wondering if there is anything better out there, but for right now I love it. This Physicians Formula eyeliner has been my favorite for a while now and I don’t really see it changing anytime soon. There are other liners I use, but when I want a really easy and steady dark line, I whip this out because it always delivers that for me.

Mascara – Essence Volume Booster Lash Primer & Stila Huge Mascara – The lash primer is a new addition to me but as of right now I can’t imagine living without it, it does magical things for my lashes and no matter what mascara I put over top of it, it looks even better than it did by itself. I’m a big fan. The Stila huge mascara is a tiny bit too wet at first for my liking but other than that I find that it checks all of the boxes for me, it lengthens a little, it doesn’t clump but makes my lash look super dark and full.

Brows – Essence Make Me Brow – This one is a long time favorite, I am not much a brow girl myself, even though I have tried basically all forms of brow products at this point, but this is the only one that I have ever really truly liked. This is super easy to apply and makes my brows look fuller but still natural.

Liquid Lipstick – Beauty Bakerie Lip Whip in Salted Caramel Mocha – I know that this formula is a little bit drying but what liquid lipstick isn’t? This one is my all time favorite because of how it looks on the lips and how long it lasts, seriously, the lasting power on this one is super impressive. I find that this will survive most meals, the only thing that really kind of takes it down is really oily or greasy foods and even then I find that it doesn’t always destroy it. Plus, this shade is fantastic.

Lip Treatment – Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil in Cranberry + Pomegranate – This is a newer discovery in my collection but I am in love already. I have been using this constantly and while I do reapply, I find that this has been the best product that I have ever found for wintery chapped lips, it really brings a lot of moisture into my lips and I find myself applying it less than any other product. Plus, it smells amazing and leaves your lips looking super glossy.

Lipstick – Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Sheer Rapture – I adore this color and this formula, the sheer formula might be my favorite just because it feels amazing on the lips and gives a sheer wash of color. I’m not sure why but I am much more likely to wear lipstick if it lasts forever or if it just gives a touch of color to the lips. This shade is stunning as well, which is a huge plus.

Lip Gloss – Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Creamsicle  – I’m not sure that this color is my all time favorite but I have been reaching for it a ton as of recently, so that’s why I picked this one. This formula is my favorite though, it’s really glossy, lasts pretty well and it’s not too sticky. This formula is well loved for a good reason.

Lip Liner – The Estee Edit The Barest Contour Lip Liner in In The Buff – I don’t think you can still get this one, which makes me super sad because if I had known I probably would have picked up a back up. I seriously love this lip liner, it’s really creamy, it lasts a really long time, it goes with a ton of lipsticks and is my perfect my lips but better kind of shade.

And those are all of my holy grails, I tried to cover a bunch of categories and really share all the things that I love. I will say, there are probably a few things in here that I might not count as holy grail because I feel like there might be better things out there, but overall this list only contains products that I really really love.
