I tried out Amazon Prime Wardrobe recently, a new feature to the Amazon prime that allows you to try before you buy, which is a really fantastic feature, especially because some higher end things that I might not typically have easy access to are in this program, and by higher end I mean Kate Spade and things like that. So, today I will be talking about that, let’s dive right in and see how this program works.
This is a pretty simple thing if you have Amazon Prime you can order from 3-8 items that will be shipped to your home so you can try them on, or in my case to the post office, you can keep them for up to 7 days to really get a good feel for if you like them or not, then at the end of 7 days you mail back what you don’t want and pay for what you want to keep. Pretty simple, sounds really great but there were some hiccups that I will be talking about.
I had a lot of issues with this at the very start of this process, I went through probably two weeks before I placed this order to throw some things together so I could look through them later and not have to dig through pages and pages of things. Well, that seriously backfired because I quickly found out that the things that qualify for this are very slim. When I say that, I mean there are tons of options but as I was browsing for this purchase, because none of the things that I had originally picked out qualified for Amazon Prime Wardrobe, I found out that each thing they show as qualifying does not apply to all sizes or colors. That was somewhat frustrating, in hindsight now I realize I could have just chosen my size and that probably would have taken a lot of the headache out of it, but that was irritating. After I settled on the four items I had them sent over and was surprised to find out that this box did not have two-day shipping like most other Amazon Prime items, it wasn’t that big of a deal to me but I was just not expecting it, so be aware of that.
This is what I picked up, well all of the soft things in this photo, I added the shoes and jewelry to round out this outfit. Everything came as I expected it to, everything was correct and I had no problems with it. The only thing that I might complain about is the scarf being impossible to actually put on but that is not that big of a deal.
My last slight complaint is that mine was mailed in a bag and there was no way I was going to be able to reuse it to mail it back like they suggested, so I had to find a box to mail it back, which isn’t that big of a deal but I just wanted to mention that. I do think to return this was super easy, they send you a prepaid
So, overall I think I liked this but I think they need to work on it a little bit because the items that qualify are not super clear and it is very frustrating as someone who is just trying to browse because when you click on it only one size might qualify and that was irritating when I was just trying to browse. Still think this is a great concept though, I love being able to easily try something and return it, I also love that this doesn’t cost you anything so if you don’t want to keep anything there is no risk. I really have mixed feelings about this program.
What do you think of the idea of Amazon Prime Wardrobe?
