August 2018 Empties

traveling on a student budget

For the past couple of months, I have been doing pretty good at using products up, I have also been really consistent with it and this month is different. I have used up a lot of products this month, I’m not sure what happened, if I’ve just really been focusing on getting through things or if everything just happened to run out at the same time, either way, I have a bunch of stuff to talk about so let’s get into talking some trash.

August empties (1)

Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Smokin’ Whistles – This was in my project pan and I am so excited to be done with this, don’t get me wrong, this is a stunning highlighter but I have been focused on it for far too long. If you are looking for something that will last you forever, is really affordable and is a blinding highlight then you should check this one out. Repurchase: I would if I didn’t have a bunch of other things to try.

Wet ‘N Wild Illumi-Naught Highlighting Pen in I-Vory Into You – I loved this for a long time and recently came back to it, and you know what, I don’t really like this. It is a bit too dark for me still, it’s kind of greasy and you go through it really quickly. Not sure why I ever loved this. Repurchase: No, I would not.

Up & Up Sensitive Shaving Gel – This is my go-to product, it’s cheap, it’s simple and I’ve used it a ton. Repurchase: Yes, already have.

Studio 35 Beauty Nail Polish Remover Pads – I picked these up on a whim during our road trip and I really enjoyed these. They are super easy to use and really handy. Repurchase: Maybe, I’m not really sure if I need these all the time but then again they do come in handy.

Doap & Glory What A Peeling Face Mask – When I saw the color of this I knew I had to have it and I was super excited to pick it up, this mask does hurt a little when you peel it off but it did magic for my skin. Repurchase: Yes, I will for sure.

Viktor and Rolf Bon Bon Perfume Mini – This bottle is too cute, hands down one of the cutest bottles of perfume I have ever seen. I really focused on using this up and honestly, it didn’t take too long but I did wear it every day. At first, I wasn’t a big fan but it’s really grown on me and I quite like it. Repurchase: Maybe, I’m very on the fence about it.

Mac Strobe Cream Mini – This is just the regular one and I really quite like it, it’s really great and moisturizing the skin and giving me a glow, I wouldn’t wear it on its own but thus far it has been great under all foundations that I have tried it with. Repurchase: I want to say no but I’m really debating it.

Skinfix Lip Repair Balm in Peppermint This was also in my project pan and I have recently discovered a real love of this product, particularly this scent, it just smelled really great. Repurchase: I would completely repurchase this if given the chance.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Grape Vine – This is another project pan product that I have crushed, this is great in the fall but I used it up in the summer, which is also a great time to use it. This product smells awful to me but I really like the color and how easy it is to apply. Repurchase: Maybe, it’s a battle of smell vs. color for me with this one.

Dermalogica Skin Perfect Primer – I did not like this one bit, I used it all up because it wasn’t that terrible but I still didn’t like it. Most of the reason why I didn’t like it was because of the smell, which was very herbal and did go away after a little while, and the fact that it was tinted and very much so. I liked that it smoothed but I could pick up other products that do that without the other things. Repurchase: No.

August empties (2)

Bath & Body Works Watermelon Lemonade Shower Gel I breezed through this one this summer, this is probably my favorite summer scent from Bath & Body Works. Repurchase: Probably not, I don’t typically buy a lot of their shower gels anymore.

Love, Beauty and Planet Coconut Water & Mimosa Flower Shampoo and Conditioner – These are still my go-to shampoo and conditioners, I have been through a few at this point and I plan on keeping up use, though I am debating rotating hair products every so often, these will for sure be in the rotation though. Repurchase: Both are in my shower.

Bath & Body Works Watermelon Lemonade Foaming Handsoap – This is still my favorite summer scent, I think I have one more of these and then I have to wait until next year or whenever I pick up more handsoaps. Repurchase: Yes, of course.

August empties (3)

Bath & Body Works Midnight Blue Citrus Candle – I am back to trying to burn through some candles and enjoy them, this one was a great pick for the season because it was really light and not a heavy scent at all. Don’t get me wrong, the scent throw was great but it’s just wasn’t heavy. Repurchase: Yes, I think I would.

Pixi Sun Mist – This sounded like a fantastic idea to me, a sunblock that I can just spritz on and go. It does its job and it’s fine, but I still didn’t find myself loving this one, I’m not sure what it was. Probably that I still had to rub it into the skin anyway. Repurchase: Probably not.

Lush Buck’s Fizz Body Conditioner – I finally finished this, I loved the smell of it but I just don’t like body conditioners from Lush. I have tried a couple and I really just don’t like them, they feel thick and greasy on my skin no matter what. So, even if they release one that smells amazing I think I will be passing on these from now on. Repurchase: No.

Maui Moisture Vanilla Bean Hair Butter – I loved how this smelled and I actually really loved this hair masque, it was super moisturizing and like I said it smelled amazing, which is a great combination. Repurchase: I probably will eventually.

Memebox Take It Easy Mask – I have some of these minis because I really wanted to try out all of the masks, I’m making my way through them slowly but surely. I actually really liked this one, it did a pretty good job at soothing my skin and it left my skin feeling good. So, overall I did enjoy this one. Repurchase: Maybe.

The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter – These are my all-time favorite body butter and this is easily my favorite scent, which you may or may not know by now because I mention it far too often. I use these mostly on my feet and in the winter, they are super moisturizing, come in a bunch of smells and always smell great. Repurchase: I will once I make it through a couple of others.

Tony Moly Pocket Bunny Mist – This is the cutest packaging ever, I love it and that’s the reason why I bought it, however, I really like this. This is a great facial mist, it smells really good and is moisturizing. Repurchase: Not yet because I have tons of sprays to get through.

And that is everything that I used up this month, I really crushed using up products with a grand total of twenty-one products, which is a lot for me even if there is a fair amount of mini-sized products. I’m hoping to beat this next month but I am not so sure that I will be able to do that.

Have you guys been using a bunch of products?
