Last month I was talking about how my favorites this month would be somewhat more interesting and honestly, I don’t think they are. I wore makeup more frequently but I don’t know what’s up, it’s like I couldn’t find a lot of time to really play with it so when I did put it on I stayed in a fairly safe area that I knew I could do really easily, either way let’s take a peek at some things I love during August.
This is more of my skincare favorites for the month but I wanted to share them with you, I still think they count as beauty favorites.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask – I didn’t use this a ton this past month but I have used it enough for me to say that I actually really like this and am excited to continue using this. It took me a long time to get around to testing it but I am glad I did, I’m even starting to think it’s much better than I thought it was when I recently reviewed it.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask – At this point, this is pretty much just a favorite of mine all the time. I love using this at any point during the day but I have been remembering to use this before bed every night and I love this stuff, it just really helps keep my lips soft and not all crusty and dried out.
Skinfix Lip Repair Balm – I am currently using a black cherry pie one, but I believe that was limited so you can not get that now. I’ve finished up my peppermint one and my cherry pie one is at work, so I’m sharing a photo of the basic one. I love these, they are super hydrating, really affordable and they come in a pretty good range of scents.
e.l.f. Pore Refining Brush Mask Tool – I have been using a lot more masks this month and in turn have been turning to this little guy a lot more. I really enjoy using this so my hands don’t really get as dirty, it applies more evenly and then I’m not dipping my hands into the product either. It seems a little bit stupid but I also just really like it.
Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Water Foundation – This just feels like a really great foundation for the end of summer, I really enjoyed it this month as it is very lightweight but looks natural on the skin.
Wet ‘N Wild MegaSlim Waterproof Skinny Mascara – I have returned to my love of this, this makes for a fabulous bottom lash mascara. The wand on this is really slim and gets into small places easily, so I am a big fan.
Ardell Demi Wispies Eyelashes – I have no been an eyelash girl and I am still not sure that I’m there yet, but I am trying to get there. These are such pretty lashes and when I do manage to get them on properly I think these look so nice. They look pretty natural and I’m just a big fan, I am hoping to get better with these though.
Bad Habit Beauty Arabesque Eyeshadow Palette – This was my pick of palettes for the month so of course, it has ended up in my favorites post. This is really fun but natural at the same time, which makes it really easy to create a look and this palette didn’t feel particularly limiting, which is always nice.
NYX HD Blush in Taupe – This is in my project pan, which I will be updating this month, and I’ve finally really started to focus on this product. With a light hand, I love this stuff, it works really well and just looks great on my skin. This can be built up and get too dark if you ask me, but with a light hand, this one is just perfect.
I feel like it’s been a couple months since I’ve done this, but this month I have just a few things that I really did not enjoy using so I wanted to talk about some not so favorites this month.
Not Your Mothers Beach Babe Soft Waves Spray – I was so excited to try this but I accidentally picked it up in the tropical banana scent, the scent is so horrid to me that I actually can’t get myself to use this. I’ve tried it once but I just couldn’t go back to it, so maybe I’ll pick up the normal one sometime and give it a shot, but as for this one I just don’t like it.
Cat Eyeliner Stencils – I don’t know what I was thinking when I bought these, probably that these were cute and I could do a first impression on them, which I do not plan on doing any longer because I just really didn’t like these. Don’t get me wrong, these weren’t completely terrible, I did pretty okay on one eye with them but getting both the match was impossible and this took longer to do than just doing it myself, which ended in the same results either way. So yeah, not a real big fan of these.
e.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation – This was my foundation pick for the month of August and I used this a total of one time before writing it off. This oxidized on me so terribly, this didn’t match my skin in the first place and I just really hated the formula of this one. I made it work the only time I wore it but, it took some effort and I’m not really looking to put a lot of effort in every time that I wear a foundation.
Living Proof No Frizz Nourishing Oil – I will say this, this did a pretty good job at taming my frizz like it says it’s supposed to do, however no matter how much I used or what I did it always made my hair look oily and I hate that. So, this one is just a no go for me.
This is my favorite look that I did from the month of August, a pretty simple one but one that I really enjoy. I love the sparkle but also the warm tones and pink, I think this is fun without being over the top or too bold, not that I mind a bold look either. This is for sure my favorite look of the month though.
And that’s all of the things that I’ve been loving and hating during the month of August, a pretty good mix of things though also a pretty boring mix of things.
What have you been loving this month?
