Why August 2018 Was Awesome + Goals

Hello to San Francisco! (2)

I know this gets said every single month by so many people but it still holds true when I say that this month has flown by, seriously, August has felt like one of the shortest months this year and I’m not really sure why. But let’s wrap up August, an uneventful month that was gone in the blink of an eye.

I’m trying to think back to what happened during August and like most months, not a whole lot comes to mind in terms of things that went on, just like last month. Some friends came to visit this month, which was fun, we had some lunch, had some snacks and just hung out, which was fun.

The only really noteworthy thing that happened this month is that we are officially landowners and will hopefully start building a house soon, which I am super excited about and so ready for.

But other than those two things August has been pretty boring, a lot of work, reading, and blogging which is pretty standard for me. I’m not really complaining though. Now, let’s get on to recapping my goals from last month and setting some new ones for September.

Get one book ahead of schedule: I have crushed this one and I am so glad that I’ve caught up because I was so behind before. I did this by reading comics and manga mostly, but to me, it still counts.

Get back into working out: Another month has gone by and I am still failing at this goal, I just didn’t do it and I’m really hoping to fix this one.

Eating better: This is kind of an endless goal but I think I have been making some progress with this. I’m trying to eat breakfast more frequently and trying to eat out less at lunch, small steps but they are steps in the right direction.

No buy: I don’t really want to talk about this one too much because I really fell through with this one real bad, but I guess that happens. I would say maybe I’ll try next month but I won’t, so this goal might be an end of the year thing.

Handwriting: I’m working on this one slowly but surely, this one will be a long journey I’m sure.

Get Working Out: September is my month for this, no more putting it off, I plan on making this happen. I have a schedule, I have it all over my calendar and I am ready to crush this goal this month.

Work on Relaxing: I am so bad at this and I’m not sure how I’m going to do this, but I really want to work on relaxing a bit more and shutting off some, we’ll see how that goes.

Get Two Books Ahead: So, now that I have caught up I am hoping to get ahead again, so let’s see if I can get this one going this month.

And those are the goals for September, I wanted to keep it simple and attainable, so that’s what I did this month. I also feel like this month is one of the more boring but what can you do? I think my wrap up next month will be a little more exciting.

How did August treat you?
