My first impression this month is all about the NYX Honey Dew Me Up primer, last month I was focused on lips and this month it’s primer all the way. I haven’t had this primer for long but I have been eyeing it for a while, so I figured it was time to give it a shot and see how it goes. So, let’s jump in and see what my first impressions of this primer are.
My first impression today will be of the NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer, I picked mine up from Ulta for $16.99 and it comes with 0.78oz of product, which appears to be on the lower side of average, so it is a little bit pricey considering this is a drugstore product.
The packaging is pretty basic, there is nothing wrong with that but it’s pretty middle of the road. The bottle feels like glass and the top is plastic and simple. I like it, not everything needs to be fancy and this still feels nice.
The applicator is a little bit strange, I’m not sure what I was expecting but it wasn’t this, I think I was expecting a pump, which I would have liked better. The little spatula is fine but it is a bit of a pain to deal with, nothing major but annoying nonetheless.
I want to mention the smell, it smells like something familiar to me, it has a very herbal scent and it’s pretty strong. I don’t mind it but I can see how some might.
Now, to talk about the formula of this and how it performs on the skin. This formula is rather thin, as to be expected. It is very gel-like, it’s cool to the touch and spreads really easily. This does feel a little sticky but it dries down mostly.
I actually really like this, I think it made my face look really lightly and naturally glowy, which is always a good thing and a plus. That’s also the goal of this product, so I think it does a pretty good job at that.
Overall, I actually really like this one. I think it does what it is supposed to do, it performs really well and has made my skin look rather nice. I’m really happy with this and like always I will keep you guys updated on what I think of this.
What do you think of first impression posts?
