Face Mask Friday: Skinfood Freshmade Watermelon Mask

FaceMask Friday_ Skinfood Freshmade Watermelon Mask

I am back with yet another face mask Friday, something that I quite enjoy doing and am exciting to be doing again this month. Last month was all about the Drunk Elephant Sukari Baby Facial and this month I am talking about the Skin Food Freshmade Watermelon Mask, something very summery and refreshing.

IMG_0597This is the Skinfood Freshmade Watermelon Face Mask, I picked mine up at Ulta and it cost me $13.00, though I find that Ulta often has sales. I don’t think this terribly priced for what it is, so I didn’t mind the full price.

Now, to start out the review the way I always do and that is talking about packaging. I’m not against nor am I for the packaging, I have no problems with it functionally, I just don’t really like the look of it, I don’t know what it is but I don’t like it. The packaging also feels like really cheap plastic, but that’s not that big of a deal to me either.

Let’s talk a little bit about the smell of this, I adore the smell of this. The scent is really faint and smells of watermelon candy to me, I really enjoy it even if it is faint. If you are sensitive to scents I don’t think this one would bother you because the scent is so light, unless you are extremely sensitive to scents in which case I would avoid this because it is not odor free.

The formula of this is very thin and gel-like, it’s a really interesting texture and I quite like it because it is very much cooling on the face, I think that is a lot of the reason why I really like this in the summer and after workouts, it really cools down my face while also soothing it.

This mask claims to soothe and hydrate, which I really think it does. I have read a lot of reviews that say that this burns but I do not experience that, maybe I don’t leave it on long enough but I for sure to not find that this burns my skin.

I really quite like the formula of this because I do find that it does what it claims to do, it soothes and hydrates my skin, while also feeling really cooling on the skin.

Overall, I do really like this mask though I see this being a mask that I pretty much only use in the summer, and maybe after workouts because it does great things for my skin then.

What’s your favorite face mask?

  1. Great post! I wonder how this one compares to the glow recipe one which is much more expensive (not a fan of that brand though, I like skinfood much better)? My favorite masks are from the brand helloskin! (sheet masks) all equally amazing! ❤

    1. I actually have the one from glow recipe, maybe I’ll put them up against each other and see how they compare. I have never heard of helloskin and also have yet to try sheet masks, I really need to get on that.

  2. I have been wanting to try this out for quite some time but haven’t pulled the trigger just yet…maybe now’s the time. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, it’s really helpful when I’m the fence about certain things! xo

    1. I have only tried a few things from Skinfood but thus far I have liked everything, this one is really perfect for summer I think. I have tried that mask before but it broke me out, which I thought was really strange.
