I am back with yet another face mask Friday, something that I quite enjoy doing and am exciting to be doing again this month. Last month was all about the Drunk Elephant Sukari Baby Facial and this month I am talking about the Skin Food Freshmade Watermelon Mask, something very summery and refreshing.
This is the Skinfood Freshmade Watermelon Face Mask, I picked mine up at Ulta and it cost me $13.00, though I find that Ulta often has sales. I don’t think this terribly priced for what it is, so I didn’t mind the full price.
Now, to start out the review the way I always do and that is talking about packaging. I’m not against nor am I for the packaging, I have no problems with it functionally, I just don’t really like the look of it, I don’t know what it is but I don’t like it. The packaging also feels like really cheap plastic, but that’s not that big of a deal to me either.
Let’s talk a little bit about the smell of this, I adore the smell of this. The scent is really faint and smells of watermelon candy to me, I really enjoy it even if it is faint. If you are sensitive to scents I don’t think this one would bother you because the scent is so light, unless you are extremely sensitive to scents in which case I would avoid this because it is not odor free.
The formula of this is very thin and gel-like, it’s a really interesting texture and I quite like it because it is very much cooling on the face, I think that is a lot of the reason why I really like this in the summer and after workouts, it really cools down my face while also soothing it.
This mask claims to soothe and hydrate, which I really think it does. I have read a lot of reviews that say that this burns but I do not experience that, maybe I don’t leave it on long enough but I for sure to not find that this burns my skin.
I really quite like the formula of this because I do find that it does what it claims to do, it soothes and hydrates my skin, while also feeling really cooling on the skin.
Overall, I do really like this mask though I see this being a mask that I pretty much only use in the summer, and maybe after workouts because it does great things for my skin then.
