I talked about how my favorites were a bit unexciting and unfortunately, I think this month’s favorites are as well. I’m okay with that but I really didn’t wear a lot of makeup this past month and when I did it was typically pretty simple, also partly because, as you guessed it, I was living out of a suitcase for a little bit over two weeks so that also contributed. Anyway, I still wanted to share my favorites because there are still some great picks, so let’s check them out.
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum – This is a new love of mine that I discovered just this past month, I have been using this every day since I first decided to try it out. If I am being honest, I’m not sure if it’s doing a whole lot for me or if it’s just the fact that it smells really good and I can’t tell, but right now I’m really into it.
Wet ‘N Wild Dewy Primer – This might be a holy grail at this point, this is just fantastic, I don’t think that it really prolongs my wear of foundation and it doesn’t really smooth but it does give my face that perfect flawless glowy look. It’s not too much but it’s also not nothing, it’s just really pretty.
Lip Smacker Kiss Therapy Grapefruit – I really just needed a chapstick with sunblock in it so I picked this one up, it’s not my all-time favorite scent that I’ve ever smelt but I like it. I love the formula of this, it kept my lips really hydrated and protected from the sun.
The Balm Batter Up in Moonshot– This is just super fantastic for simple eye makeup looks, when you’re looking for something easy and quick this one is your guy. You can also wear this with more done up looks, but typically when I’m bringing this guy out it’s so I can just put it on the lid and go on with my life.
Nail Polish Remover Wipes – I had never used nail polish remover wipes until recently and they are really fantastic if you are in a pinch, which I have been a couple of times this past month and they have been fantastic at getting me out of that chipped nail polish pinch.
Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette – I have been hearing a lot of mixed things about this one but I had already bought it when I started hearing mixed things about it. I am glad I picked this up though because I think this is going to be fantastic for the summer, it’s not the most pigmented eyeshadow I’ve ever seen but it does a pretty good job and I am really quite content with the results I see.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask – I have been using this a ton this past month because my lips have been getting super chapped, I’ve even been using this during the day and it’s really been helping. This product is for sure one of those that really sinks into the skin and really help hydrate the lips.
Smith’s Tropical Ambrosia Balm – This is something I’ve been using constantly the second half of the month, it smells amazing and so summery while also really hydrating my lips.
Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Foundation – This has been my go-to foundation this past month, it’s really light which makes it perfect for the summer and it has SPF in it which is always an added bonus. This gives me just enough coverage and really lasts through the day, it is pretty light to medium coverage though.
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – This has been a must-have product to finish off any of my looks this past month and will probably continue to be a favorite until I’ve used it all up. This does a fantastic job at really making my makeup last, even during the heat and humidity, it is hands down the best setting spray that I’ve ever come across and I’m really debating purchasing a full size. I’ll have to get through some others first though.
This is the look that I picked out for the month just because I really like how it came out, I think it looks really good, reminds me of the sunset all while still feeling very summery. I used a lot of the products featured above to create this look though I did use a palette that wasn’t featured here, I used the custom shadow palette I brought with me on my trip and used all of the warmer orangey/gold shades to create this look. I am really happy with how it turned out.
And those are all of my favorite beauty related products from last month, a fairly good mix of things and brands if you ask me, but nothing too exciting this month. I think that’s alright, sometimes it’s okay to have a couple favorites posts with some core favorites instead of just tons of exciting things, at least I hope it is.
