First Impression Friday: Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss

Flower Power Co.

It’s time for a first impression, a post that I have mixed feelings on, not because I don’t enjoy reading them or writing them because I very much do but because I’m never sure if this should be a monthly thing. I’m almost always picking up something new every month but at the same time I’m just not sure if I should hold these off for products that feel like they need a first impression rather than just picking one and random to fill a slot, I’m just not sure. What do you guys think? Either way I am here today with a first impression post for a product that I think I would talk about either way, so let’s hop right on in.

20180407_153216.jpgUp on the chopping block for first impression Friday is the Urban Decay Hi-Fi Shine Ultra Cushion Lip Gloss in the shade Rapture, you can pick these up at various places but I personally picked mine up at Ulta. They will run you $20.00 for 0.23 ounces of product, which I think is a little bit more product than you get in typical lip glosses, which is nice.

I want to start the way I typically start reviews and first impressions out and that is by talking about the packaging, I personally don’t hate this packing but nor do I love it. I like how sleek looking it is, I like the shape of it and I like that you can clearly see the color of the gloss in it. What I don’t like about the packaging is the handle basically, I don’t like the look of the silver because to bit it simply it looks and feels cheap, it also gets dirty really easily and I hate that about it.

20180407_153229.jpgI guess the next feature of the packaging that I want to go over is the applicator wand. There isn’t anything special about it, there’s no gimmick to it or anything like that which I do not mind one bit. The wand is really straightforward but isn’t your typical doe foot applicator, I kind of like this better. So, overall I am mostly happy with the packaging and the only real problems I can find are with the handle.

Now, it’s time to get into the good stuff, the formula. I have only tried this one so I am going completely off the first impression of this product, as to be expected. I love this color so much, I think it is the perfect my lips but better lip gloss shade, which you will see in the photo that I’m going to post below.

20180407_153255.jpgI think rapture is a gorgeous shade a whole throughout the Urban Decay line and I love colors that are more than one product in a line, so when I love something I can have it in other product types. I have rapture in a sheer lipstick and a blush as well at the moment.

Now, to really talk about the formula of this lipgloss, I will start by saying that I do like it but it’s not my favorite formula so far but I don’t hate it either. I like that it gives a little bit of a tingly feeling and a little bit of a plump without being too much. I love the way this looks on the lips, it doesn’t have too much of a smell I don’t think, the only thing that I might complain a little bit about is that it is a bit stickier than I would like. That’s the only reason why I would say that I like it and don’t love it, I’m not super favorable of really sticky lipglosses.

Overall, I really like this lipgloss so far and I think the color is to die for, I just wish it were a little less sticky and then it would pretty much be perfect. I am excited to try this out further and I could maybe even see myself picking up a couple more of these in the future.

Have you tried any of these out yet?
