Today I have decided to something a little bit different and talk about something that I don’t talk about a ton, that’s makeup brushes. I talk about makeup a lot and skincare but never about the tools that I used to complete these makeup look and apply makeup. I have pulled together a small-ish selection of makeup brushes that I adore, I will try to link them the best that I can but some of them were completely purchased a tjMaxx and I don’t think I can link, but I’ll probably try and link to something similar.
Ulta Powder Brush – $20.00 – This is my favorite powder brush of all time, it’s seriously fantastic and this is probably the most expensive single brush I own, which I picked up during one of many sales at Ulta. This brush is soft, I find that it feels really sturdy and it’s just great for picking up face powder and just sweeping it across the skin. I am a huge fan of this one.
Real Techniques Flat Contour Brush – $10.99 – I think this is a knock-off of this brush, I picked the brush in the photo up at tjMaxx but the closest one I could find was from real techniques. I do like to use this brush for contouring when I attempt to do it that is. I think this picks up just the right amount of product and something about the shape makes it very easy for me to contour with. I also think the handle is pretty interesting looking.
BH Cosmetics Tapered Powder Brush – $5.99 – This is the blush brush that I have really been reaching for recently, it used to be my real techniques blush brush but I think this one has replaced it. This one is super soft and just the right shape to easily apply blush.
Real Techniques Setting Brush – $7.99 – I use this for highlighter and it is the best highlighting brush that I’ve come across, fan brushes just don’t pick up enough product for me and this one does. I don’t think this picks up a ton of product typically, just more than a fan brush which makes for a better application of you ask me.
Eco Tools Dual Ended Eye Brush – $6.99 – This does come in a two pack but the one that I really love is the one with the crease brush on one end, this brush is basically the perfect eyeshadow brush if you ask me. One end is perfect for applying eyeshadow directly to the lid and the other side is perfect for a nice crease application.
Wet ‘N Wild Dome Pencil Eye Brush – $5.99 – This is the eyeshadow brush that has really been finishing off my eyeshadow looks, making them look more perfected and polished I think. I use this to smudge out any eyeshadow I apply underneath my eye and I used it to really properly define and blend out the outer v. I never knew I needed a brush like this until I had one, it’s fantastic and I would recommend that everyone pick on up.
Wet ‘N Wild Large Eyeshadow Brush – $0.99 – My last brush is honestly a brush that I use, for one thing, I use this brush to apply my base eyeshadow color which is typically brulee from wet n wild, it does a great job at doing just that and this is such a cheap brush. I actually really like this line of pink and white brushes from the brand a lot.
And those are pretty much all of my favorite makeup brushes, these are all brushes that I reach for every time I do my makeup, the only reason I wouldn’t be using these was if they were dirty and then I’ll dip into my second favorites and so on until I finally get not so lazy and wash my makeup brushes.
What are some of your favorite makeup brushes?
