Dupe: Wet ‘N Wild vs. Stila Liquid Lipstick

Dupe_Wet 'N Wildvs.Stila

If you’ve checked out my blog before then you might know that I do monthly dupes posts, I just love dupes because who doesn’t love finding a cheaper alternative to a product that they love? I know that I do for sure. Up for judgment today is the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the shade Patina and Wet ‘N Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick in Rebel Rose. Let’s just jump right on in to comparing these two.

I’ve never really seen talk of these two products being compared as dupes but when I was digging through my stash these two just looked like they might very well be identical, which we still find out here shortly.

The Stila brand one will run you $22.00 and gets you .08oz of product, whereas the Wet ‘N Wild will run you $5.99 and get you 0.21oz of product, which is a fair amount more for a much lesser price tag. The Stila one in this photo is just a little deluxe sized sample so the full size will be a bit bigger.

I think I’m going to start out with focusing on the more expensive of the two, which is the Stila one. This has a pretty good formula though I do find it to be a little bit more drying than some of the other formulas of liquid lipsticks I have tried, but that also means that the staying power is much better than I expected as well. I don’t know why I wasn’t expecting great lasting power from a product that is called stay all day after all. Also, this one smells so damn good, it smells a lot like a cupcake and I love that.

The top is Wet ‘N Wild and the bottom Stila

The next one that I want to chat about is the Wet ‘N Wild one, this one doesn’t have quite the same lasting power power as the Stila one but it is far more comfortable than that one, which I personally prefer but sometimes you are just looking for lasting power over comfort. I think this formula is a fantastic one but I wish this line had more wearable nudes, it doesn’t have enough for my own personal taste. Additional things that I love about this one is the wand, it’s just perfect for hugging the lips and applying liquid lipstick perfectly.

Now, I want to talk about the colors of these two, they looked like they might be color dupes in the tube and when I swatched them on different parts of my hands but now that I have swatched them side by side I don’t really see it. Like, I think they look close enough that you don’t really need both but they also look just different enough for you to own both if you want to, at least in my opinion that’s how I feel about the colors.

So, overall I thought these two might be fantastic dupes for each other but in the end, I don’t really think that they are dupes, in color or formula but I do think that these are both still fantastic liquid lipsticks and the perfect addition to any makeup lovers collection.

Would you consider these two color dupes?
