A Look Back: Best Looks of 2017

A Look Back_Best MakeupLooks 2017

Today I have decided to take a look back and talk about ten of my favorite makeup looks I did in the year of 2017, I’m a bit late on this one but I don’t think I’m too late, it’s completely still acceptable to be talking about 2017, right? Right. Some of these may be looks that you’ve seen before, maybe here on the blog or on Instagram, and some of them may be ones that have never quite made the cut to either place, but whichever they are my favorites that I did during the year of 2017.

I’m going to try and put these in order of when they were done just so we can see if I actually got in better at this whole makeup thing throughout the year. The style these photos are taken in may also vary in style. But this is the very first colorful eye that I did last year and the first one that I was really proud of at the time, I still like it but I think I could do better at this point in time, but this was such a fun time for me, getting to play with all of the color.

Up next is a look that I have pretty down pat, mostly because this is a very neutral and everyday sort of look for me so this is something that I could slap on in probably about 15 to 20 minutes. I still love this look, though I do wish the eyeliner on my one eye was a tiny bit better as I see a dot that is out of place. Still, this is a really great neutral look I think.

Another colorful look, when I did this one I thought this eye looked very northern lights inspired which is why I like it so much. I like to play with color a lot but am still not the best at figuring out what shades work best together, so I was really proud of the mix of colors here and how well they ended up going together.

This is probably my all-time favorite eye that I’ve created, I’m so happy with how it turned out and I think it was super fun to do as well, I love this one so much that I’m really debating trying to do this one over again. Not necessarily to do better but just because I really want to wear this eye again, it’s a bit bold but I really like it.

While I do frequently wear a full face of makeup, I typically don’t get this glammed up but I really loved how this ended up turning out, this was super glam and everything ended up look exactly like I wanted it to.  I was very pleased with this look and I still am, it’s a great one.

This one is something that’s between something really fun and something more natural, not that it’s really natural either. I guess what I’m saying is that is a lot more office-friendly than some of my other favorite looks, but it still has a bit of fun to it. I really want to try and recreate this look now that I am looking at it again.

This feels like this would be a fantastic look to recreate next month for Valentine’s day, it’s fun, it’s bright and it’s pretty festive I think. This looks is bright, warm and I really just like it.

This eye is something that I really love, I think it ended up looking really well blended and really nice on the eye, it was cute and fun without being too much. I also really like the pop of bright green-yellow in the corner, it seems like a super fun thing to incorporate into more looks.

I’m not much of a red lip girl but I am so happy with how this base makeup came out, usually, I like to wear eye makeup and the whole nine yards but I am really thinking about trying this out again because I am really smitten with this look. It’s soft, glowy and really just perfect.

And my last pick, my last look of the year and the most recent one. This one is another natural one and I am really happy with how it turned out.

And those are all of the makeup looks that I really loved this past year, well, the top ones anyway. I think it’s safe to say that I enjoyed everything that I wore this last year, these were just the ones that really stuck out when I sat down and started looking everything over.
