Why December 2017 Was Awesome + Goals

Why DecemberWas Awesome+ Goals

I feel like my content might be sounding a tiny bit repetitive right now, but I committed to doing this and decided that it was a good idea to wrap up December like I would any other month, even though I did just do a yearly wrap up, I just feel like this will be more detailed about the month of December and give me a chance to set some smaller goals. Anyway, let’s get into talking about the last month of 2017.

December is probably one of my favorite months, mostly because I love Christmas, seriously, I adore Christmas and I wait for it every year, it’s just the best time of year. There are all kinds of food, gifts and just enjoying the company of the people I love and don’t get to see all of the time, December is a fantastic time of year and I’m so sad to see it go, but I guess now I can look forward to counting down the days to the next Christmas. I’m sure I sound insane, I just love it so and I really hate January, but let’s not get into that.

December was a good month, December was a busy month. I am proud of myself for completing Blogmas this year, I was really worried there for a little bit, this is the first year that I’ve done it with a full-time job so it was a lot more hectic than I thought it would be, but I completed it, it was only a little bit stressful but also very fun and I’m glad that I did it. Might have to get a bit more a head start this year, but we’ll see.

Not only did December bring me Blogmas it brought me a few different Christmas parties, which were super fun, it brought me together with a bunch of people. Seriously, I visited with so many people that I hardly get to see and some people that I see more often but don’t see enough, which is something that I really enjoyed and am so happy to have gotten to do.

December also brought me to my home state of Florida, we went back home for Christmas as we are swapping holidays each year, last year we did Thanksgiving in Florida and this year Christmas, next year it will be Thanksgiving again. Anyway, it was nice to be in Florida, I’ve grown used to Virginia as I’ve been here for almost two years now, but Florida is still my home and I miss it from time to time. The other great thing about it was that it was warm, it was so nice getting a break from the winter time and being able to swim and enjoy the sunshine and outside a little bit. There are some things I miss about Florida more than others and one of those things is being able to go to the beach all year basically, though we did not get a chance to go this year.

I had a really good time in Florida seeing my friends and eating food that I can’t get up here, that’s pretty much what all trips to Florida are now, but I’m okay with that because it typically means I had fun. I had a good Christmas and just all around a fun trip.

Then when we came home we had fake Christmas here, or I guess you could call it Christmas 2.0, where we exchanged gifts between the two of us and then we went over to his parents and had Christmas there, like we would any other year, it was really quite fun.

Now it’s the time of this post that I talk about my goals from last month and how I did with them, then talk about my new goals for this month, but let’s start with last month. I did beat my November views which I am not that surprised about because I posted every single day last month, the next goal was finish my reading challenge which I did, barely and it was a close call but I finished it and I’m really proud of myself, 52 books in one year. Working out did not go so well this past month, I started but then I stopped and I was having some joint issues and lazy and enjoying Christmas, so I just failed at this one. The last thing is decluttering and I have done pretty good with this but didn’t get as far as I really wanted to, so this one is like half done. I think I did alright last month with reaching my goals, but now let’s talk about some new goals for January.

My first goal is that I want to get back to working out, I’m not saying six days a week but ideally, four to five days a week, just because this is something that I need to do and I need to get back on track.

Get ahead of my reading goal because it’s the start of a new year and I would rather be ahead than behind, so hopefully I can get a little bit ahead.

Finish decluttering because I didn’t finish last month so I think this one has to roll over into this month, I don’t have a whole lot left to do but I really want to finish it.

And those are really it, I don’t have a whole lot of things in mind for goals this month, which I think is perfectly fine, sometimes I have more goals then other months.

Overall, December was good month for me, I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it.

How was your December?
