2017 Makeup Favorites

Today we are focused on makeup, the thing that I am sure most of you are here for and what is easily my favorite favorites post to write for the year. I have one more favorites post that I have planned for tomorrow and then that will wrap up all of my yearly favorites for 2017. I can’t believe the year is almost gone, it is insane. But anyway, today I am talking about all of the products that I really loved and found myself using all the time during this past year.

Benefit The Porefessional Primer – I have been playing around with a bunch of primers this year but when it comes down to it this has got to be my favorite primer of the year. This is a fantastic primer, this really prolongs the wear of my makeup, this really fills my pores and leaves my skin looking flawless, so hands down my favorite primer.

Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer – Now that I finally have this in the correct shade I am in love with this foundation, it just has such good coverage and gives me a really fantastic finish, but the best part is that it barely feels like anything on this skin. So, this is the perfect foundation if you ask me.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer – Everyone was talking about this and raving about how great this concealer was when I picked this up and boy am I glad that I did, this is a fantastic concealer. This is really brightening and really goes a long way, it’s got great coverage and is just everything that I could ask for in a concealer.

Mac Prep + Prime Fix+ Coconut – It is no secret that I fell in love with fix+ this year, the coconut scent especially, that stuff is my jam, so much so that I’ve already bought two sets with the other two scents in it just to get coconut, I’ll use the others they just aren’t as good as my trusty coconut. This product does a fantastic job of setting the face, really getting that powdery look away, refreshing the face and even enhancing the look of eyeshadows, it is a fantastic product.

Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Baby Love – This probably comes to no surprise for anyone as this is my favorite blush ever probably, it’s just super cute, it’s really easy to wear an all around a fantastic product. This shade goes great with a simple look or even a dramatic one, it has a really nice lasting power to it and it applies like a dream.

NYX Blotting Powder – This does a fantastic job at setting my makeup while also giving my tiny bit of extra coverage, which is a little bit of the reason why I love this powder so much. This powder not only sets my makeup but if I get a little over eager with blush or bronzer or anything then I can tone it down with this powder.

City Colors Contour Palette On The Go – This was such a random find, I found this when I was obsessed with doing five below makeup tests, which maybe I should do again, but anyway, this was a product that really stuck with me. I love the different shades in it, I love how easy it is to contour with this product, I love the bottom two left colors mixed together as well, it is just perfect for me.

Colourpop Smoke N Whistles – This is in my project pan so I have used this a ton this past year and I’ve really fallen in love with it, it’s a blinding bright highlight for sure but it’s also a really easy highlight to wear for me. It’s light and it doesn’t really lean too gold or silver or a color, it’s just a fantastic really neutral highlight.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance – I had to include this, when I sat down and tried to think about what palettes I used a lot this year and which ones I thought were the best, I kept coming back to this one. I loved a lot of palette and eyeshadows this year but in terms of the best I really think this one is it for me, it has a fantastic range of colors that I love and find so easy to use together, it really blends easily and has fantastic pigment, I’ve loved this so much that I actually have hit pan on a few shades.

Heavy Metal Liner in Midnight Cowboy – I have really fallen for glitter liner this year, I’ve tried a few different ones but this has been the best one that I have used, in fact, I have picked up a second glitter liner shade from this line because this one was so fantastic. The glitter distribution is a little bit thin but in comparison, to all of the other glitter liners I have used it’s fantastic. I’m just really happy with this.

Physcians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum in Ultra Black – This is my holy grail eyeliner, I love this stuff, it’s pretty black, it has a brush tip with makes for really easy and precise application, it’s just the best.

Lipstick Queen Hello Sailor – Yes, this is a little bit gimmicky but I still love this lipstick, it is a blue lipstick that adjusts to a really lovely mauve shade, it’s the perfect mauve shade and I love it. This is also super moisturizing, which is always a nice added bonus for a lip product.

Lancome Juicy Shaker in Melli Melon – I love this, this was a really random purchase but I am so glad that I picked this one up. This is a lip oil so it does feel really oily on the lips but I love that about it, it gives a light color to the lips, it really moisturizes and it smells amazing, so this is an all-around fantastic product.

The Estee Edit The Barest Contour Lip Liner in In The Buff – I was surprised to love this as much as I do, I never thought I would be all about a lip liner but I am, mostly because this lip liner is fantastic, it’s the perfect shade to wear with any lip color if you ask me and it also looks amazing on it’s own.

Nars Lipstick in Dolce Vita – I always wanted Dolce Vita and I am so happy to have picked it up, it is a fantastic lipstick that has quickly become a favorite. It’s a bit expensive but it’s also really comfortable to wear, it’s really a sheer wash of color and if you ask me it’s the perfect shade.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment – This is hands down my favorite lip balm because that’s pretty much what this is, I love everything about it from the feel on the lips to the scent, I even love the packaging and how it’s a screw on packaging instead of just a lid that pushes on. It’s just a fantastic product.

Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian – I am almost done with this little mini size lip gloss which never happens, it’s usually so hard for me to use up a full lip product because I am always jumping around from product to product but the Buxom Full-on Lip Creams have really taken a spot in my heart, they are fantastic products. They are glossy without being too sticky, they are lightly plumping without hurting the lips and they are all around just a fantastic and I would completely buy another one of these.

And those are all my makeup favorites of the year, I think I did really good at keeping it down to a sane number and not getting out of control, I tried to keep it down to one item per category excluding lips of course. It’s pretty much impossible for me to only pick two or three lip products, so that’s why I picked the ones I did, but I did try and keep it down to just a few instead of all of the ones that I really wanted to include.

What are some of your makeup favorites of the year?
