Review: NYX Go To Palette in Bon Voyage

NYX Go To Palette

It is time for the final all in one palette review, if you missed last weeks you can find it here, but anyway, I think this weeks review might be the only palette one might call all in one. This is the NYX Go-To Palette in Bon Voyage. Let’s just jump right on into this review!

20170805_141505This palette retails for $16.99, this is the lowest price of all the palettes I’ve reviewed. This comes with six eyeshadows, a highlighter, blush, and bronzer, basically, everything that you need for a full face look. The great thing about all of these products being in one package is that they all go really well together, as you would probably assume. This has a total weight of 0.54 oz, which isn’t too bad if you ask me.

I find this one to be much more of an evening or dramatic palette, although the look I created and will be sharing down below was a lot softer and more office appropriate, so this palette may look very dramatic but it’s pretty versatile too, which I really like, especially on a trip somewhere.

All of the shadows in the pan appear to have a shimmer to them, and almost all of them do, the only one that I find doesn’t really have any shimmer to it is the light brown shade, it looks like it would be a little bit shimmery but it’s not, it swatched and applies more matte than anything. The highlighter has a shimmer to it, of course, but the blush and the bronzer are completely matte, which I really appreciate.

Now, to talk a little bit about formula. I enjoy this formula, it has the tiniest bit of kickback to it but barely, but it’s also not hard either, it’s a nice texture. If I were complaining I would like it to be just a tad softer, but I’m perfectly alright with it as it is.

I found these to be pretty pigmented, as you might be able to see now, and I also found these super easy to work with and very easy to blend. I think this palette works really well together in terms of shades, although I could see myself pulling in a couple of other shades from time to time that I think would work well in here. Mostly a really pretty champagne kind of lid shade.

These shadow shades are stunning, the purple and green are really stunning jewel-toned shades that are just so pretty. The next is a really soft and warm brown matte shade that I think is perfect for the crease, then a really light cream shade with the slightest bit of shimmer to it, which I personally think looks really nice all over the lid. The next is this really pretty purple-brown shimmer shade, I don’t really know how to describe it exactly but I do know that I find it very pretty and interesting. Lastly is a black with the slightest bit of shimmer in it, I am personally not that favorable of black eyeshadows but I also think it makes a lot of sense in this palette. I enjoy the highlighter, it’s really pretty subtle but it is there, the blush is gorgeous, it’s the perfect matte peach blush and I love it, though I think it seems a tiny bit random with this palette and the bronzer is not a shade for me, but it’s very pigmented and should be used with a light hand I think.

This is the look that I came up with, I’m actually very happy with how it turned out, the eyeshadow looks really nice and great for the daytime, the highlighter is there but it’s not in your face either, and I really just love this blush.

Overall, it’s a look that I’m very happy with and I’m excited to play with this palette some more. I like this palette and am now eyeing the other shade of this one a little bit.
